It is noticeably better to be an American citizen than have a H1-B visa, so no one with an American citizenship would apply for an H1-B.
I guess if you are not an American citizen, but the USA is your country of origin, the H1-B process would discriminate against you. There would be the obvious question why you renounced your citizenship, and now want to come back to the USA on a temporary basis.

Against? If you are an American citizen, you do not have to go through the difficult process, so your a discriminated for if you are an American citizen.
A US citizen can get a software job in the USA without any extra effort. A H1-B has to go through all sorts of hoops, including a lottery, to get a job in the USA. That is discrimination for US citizens. Not all discrimination is wrong.
H1-B visa holders have to take lower pay to make up for the discrimination against them.
Next you will claim that antebellum slaves were discriminated for, because they got "jobs" picking cotton for no money.

Your misunderstanding extends to slaves. Slaves were not discriminated for, they were discriminated against. No one was sitting around wishing they were a slave.
Slaveholders were discriminated for. While they had to pay more in up front costs to pay for kidnapped slaves, they would not have to pay the slaves a salary. It was not a benefit to slaves not to be paid a salary, but only to the slaveholders.
If you feel foreigners are better treated than American citizens, you can always renounce your American citizenship. Other countries require you to have a new citizenship to renounce your citizenship, but the USA allows you to become stateless. You will be an illegal alien in a pen stroke. You can apply for a H1-B visa, and see how that goes.

If you are willing to take slavery wages, for doing as good of a job, then employers will hire you. In fact, they will prefer you, because they do not have to go through the B1-B process to hire you.
H1-B visa holders are discriminated against. And those being discriminated against are not the only ones hurt. Get used to it, because it is going to get worse with trump.
