The owner of the Phoenix Suns basketball team, Robert Sarver, opposes
AZ's new immigration laws. Arizona's Governor, Jan Brewer, released
the following statement in response to Sarver's criticism of the new
law:

"What if the owners of the Suns discovered that hordes of people were
sneaking into games without paying? What if they had a good idea who
the gate-crashers are, but the ushers and security personnel were not
allowed to ask these folks to produce their ticket stubs, thus
non-paying attendees couldn't be ejected. Furthermore, what if Suns'
ownership was expected to provide those who sneaked in with
complimentary eats and drink? And what if, on those days when a
gate-crasher became ill or injured, the Suns had to provide free
medical care and shelter?" -Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer

i guess she overlooked those illegals that work - plus, not a valid analogy

I'm for deporting all of them, we don't need to do it with ghestapo tactics. Obama is deporting more than bush. So I'll enjoy the faux outrage.

you're just mad because she mad a great point and you can't counter it...

whether they work or not is irrelevant to the discussion...

Yeah, the ol' Gov. is really taking it to the owner of a professional basketball team. If only silly analogies would work so well in a court of law.

the issue in court is not solely about immigration, but about supremacy

gov. brewer makes an excellent point, you're just beside yourself because you can't counter it so you have to throw in a red herring about the court case

silly analogies work on students, grown ups not so much.

there is no way you graduated high school....

analogies, like this great one used by gov. brewer, are used all the time in "grown up" world...working the dishes at mcdonalds like you do you obviously don't need analogies to complete your daily tasks

I'm not interested in countering an analogy which compares the United States of America to a basketball arena.

Governors getting the better of basketball team owners doesn't impress me much. Maybe she wins that particular argument, but where things matter she ain't doing so hot.

cretins typically cannot deal with metaphors.

lol...so you admit she has a point, but you still have to criticize her because she is a republican...

your partisan slip is showing nigel

and she is doing just fine where it matters....if you're going to enter the public arena and call out brewer, then you had better expect a reply and in this case, she kicked his ass

No, I can deal with metaphors. Let's assume the metaphor is accurate. So what? At best, Brewer's point means that the owner of the Phoenix Suns has no legitimate basis to criticize the immigration law. Am I supposed to argue that he does? I don't give a shit whether he does or not.

She may have a point that the Phoenix Suns owner ought not be throwing stones, but so what? Who cares? That doesn't resolve anything regarding the AZ immigration law. And that was my point.

do you read the fucking news?

And if you're quoting anything from this administration, you must be an idiot. these guys are worse than the last bunch of crooks.

Just look at ICE unions voting no confidence in their leadership.

why do you find it necessary to whine and criticize everything republican? no one ever claimed her comment solves anything regarding immigration...it is however a valid point

you don't need to bitch all the time

I know people thought immigration was a problem during bush, but the rhetoric has racheted up 1,000 fold even though Obama deports more. faux outrage much!!!
