dec 29 2018 A report from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) shows the Internal Revenue Service has more than 3,000 handguns and 3,000,000 rounds of handgun ammunition in its Criminal Investigation division alone.

According to the GAO, the Criminal Investigation side of the IRS also has 554 rifles, the majority of which are semiautomatic, but automatics are also included. They have an excess of 5,000,000 rounds of ammunition for the weapons, including the ammunition for the handguns.

DHS has approximately 65,000 law enforcement personnel in multiple subordinate agencies including the Coast Guard, U.S. Secret Service, Customs and Border Patrol (CBP), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and others. In 2012, DHS sought to save taxpayer dollars though a consolidated five-year contract to purchase up to 450 million rounds of ammunition for all of its components. This amount is roughly consistent with the total amount bought over the last five years.

If you were not such a stupid fuck you would see that the answer is in the part of the article I posted.

Like I said, it is nothing new for these agencies to contract for large amounts of arms in order to save money. In the case of the DHS it was 450 MILLION rounds over 5 years.

You do know, although I am certain one as stupid as you would not know, that they use the ammo mostly for target practice right? And 30-60,000 agents can go trough a hell of a lot of ammo in 5 years. Especially when it is free.
