GOP suing to keep 3rd party candidates off the ballot

Ok, I'm not trying to misquote her or put words in her mouth. She said the adult thing to do is to vote for a Democrat (or Republican) for President and anyone who votes third party is just whining and not being an adult. So I'm just running with that by saying the Republicans are doing the "adult thing" by keeping a third party out as the only people who would vote third party are "whiners".

ok, that sounds like her. it's childish to vote for someone with no chance of winning....typical idiot shit. LOL

the GOP is fast becoming the party of complete idiots.

this is one of the most unamerican actions they could undertake. i can't believe this will sit well with anyone. if it sits well with you, how can you justify limiting the options of voters?

I wonder...would the GOP like to remove all opposition from the ballot?

They seem to be passing restrictive voting laws every chance they get.

I can't applaud their decision enough, because it will hopefully drive those of noble patrician blood to the Libertarian party.

Got some links to support that?

I always do good brother.

MAINE SUPREME COURT SAYS NADER LAWSUIT AGAINST DEMOCRATIC PARTY BEHAVIOR IN 2004 MAY PROCEED

"During 2004, the Democratic Party launched the "ballot project", spending millions of dollars to challenge Nader’s ballot position in 19 states. Most of the party’s challenges were rejected by state election officials and state courts. Nader charges that most of the challenges lacked merit and the Democratic Party knew they lacked merit, and that these challenges were filed simply to bleed the Nader campaign’s resources.

Nader also charges that, in addition to legal challenges, the Democratic Party and other groups allied with it carried out dirty tricks against his petitions, including harassment of his petitioners, especially in Oregon and Pennsylvania.

Ralph Nader & Ron Paul Agree: Ballot Access Laws are Rigged Against Independent & Third Party Candidates

Ralph Nader and Ron Paul, two of the most outspoken political leaders of our time, don’t agree all that often. But one thing they both understand is that the American political system is rigged against independent and third party candidates.

Restrictive ballot access laws across the nation prevent voters from having a real choice in who they vote for.

And the Democratic and Republican machines intend to keep it that way.

How the Indiana Democratic and Republican Parties Defeat Competition Before Election Day

Over the last century, Indiana lawmakers have made ballot access for independent and minor party candidates increasingly more difficult. By repeatedly amending state election laws since 1933, Indiana legislators, comprised almost entirely of members of the Democratic and Republican parties, have erected barriers to ballot access that are now nearly insurmountable.

For third-party candidates, playing field is uneven by state

I could go on .. for days.

I'm a Green, and I've been active in the ballot access movement for many years. Here in Georgia, our biggest impediment is the Democratic Party.

Why is the Democratic Party our biggest impediment? Because they think our votes belong to them .. no differently then all the whining from democrats that Nader and Greens stole the election from Al Gore .. who couldn't even win his own state.

Make no mistake about it .. it's BOTH parties that engage in voter suppression.

Restricting voting rights has always been the plan from the fascists on the right.

Nothing new.

Not surprising. I guess they don't want anyone looking at an actual fiscal conservative.

just one more way the repugs are trying to rig voting nationwide

if you are not a repug and toe the party line then you should not be allowed to vote

this may result in another election where challenges that voters were denied being able to vote and may result in another 'appointed' president

bummer

oh well
