Global Redistribution of Wealth: A Good Idea?

Redistribute all wealth in the world equally to all?

I would like to know what the liberal pinheads think on this. We know that this is an Obama objective, he has basically said as much in numerous speeches. Liberals often maintain this is the problem with things in the world, all the wars and upheavals are the result of the poor not having their fair share, and the wealthy class having more than they deserve.

So here is the proposition... We pool all wealth in the entire world, and redistribute it evenly among every man, woman, and child on the planet, giving everyone the exact same wealth across the board.... Good Idea or not?

I had mentioned before that I would want a global negative income tax of 1%, with the first 10k of income exempt, the revenue of which is to be distributed evenly amongst every human being on the planet. This inspired a huge amount of anger amongst the nationalists, so I really haven't mentioned it much since.

I'm sorry for not reading the poll before I commented. Dixie's insane definition of liberalism
(which is, in fact, contradictory to liberalism), however, is something no liberal supports. I don't see why we should even talk with such an irrational actor, it merely leads undue credence to their cause

Absolutely. Poor people are only poor because greedy rich bastards lie cheat and deceive them. If everyone was forced to be equal financially (and property wise) there would be no problems. None.

Wow, only 3 votes? Where are the liberals? Come on guys, here's your chance to make your case for wealth redistribution! Let's hear it!

You expect libs to respond to your poll when the very first sentence is an insult?

Go back to Polling School, you still have a lot to learn about framing the questions.

Here's the strange thing about it all. Conservatives are big proponents of "family". They believe the idea, the concept of family, the workings of a family unit are beneficial and I think most people would agree. However, when it comes to society the Conservative is diametrically opposed to implementing the "family approach".

Just as families do not equally divide all the wealth Obama is not suggesting society, in general, equally divide all the wealth. For example, take a family with a stay-at-home Mom, two kids and a working Dad.

Dad may decide to buy a set of golf clubs for $500.00. One does not expect him to forgo the purchase and equally divide the $500.00 between the four family members giving each one $125.00. However, if one of his children required, say, braces for their teeth one would expect Dad to forgo the purchase and use that money as partial payment.

It is not a matter of Dad having too much money. It is not a case of equally distributing the money. It has nothing to do with giving the child the exact same wealth as his father has.

The same holds true in society. No one is proposing everyone should own a boat or a new car or a thousand dollar suit. Helping people, utilizing the "family approach", is misconstrued to mean "sharing the wealth" which is deliberately misleading.

If the Mom in the preceding scenario required a new pair of slacks would we say she is punishing Dad because he has money? Are his children, by expecting nutritious meals, to be construed as stealing Dad's hard earned cash?

In the past people were born, raised and lived out their lives in the same area. Over the years it usually balanced out how one helped the other. Today, people are constantly relocating. Two or three years in a community and then move on. Often times, they do not have the opportunity to contribute to the community. Thus, they pay taxes which are then distributed to the needy communities/people.

Again, it has nothing to do with "distributing the wealth" in the sense it is divided equally. It is about helping. It is about running a country based on the tried and true idea of family which Conservative folks are the major proponent of.
