Giant sunspot six times the size of Earth begins solar flares

Yeah - because so many people make the argument that the sun has nothing to do w/ the earth's climate.

Good call.

Are you aware of the theory that solar activity has a direct effect on the amount of cosmic rays in the form of muons that reach Earth? As the protons crash through the planet's atmosphere, they ionize volatile compounds, causing them to condense into airborne droplets, or aerosols. Clouds then build up around the droplets. When there is high solar activity then cosmic rays are deflected from Earth resulting in less cloud cover and more reach Earth when there is low activity.

During the Maunder Minimum, there were practically no sunspots for seventy years between 1645 and 1715 which coincided with the Little Ice Age where the Thames used to freeze over in winter and they held ice fairs on it.

I don't suppose you will answer but hope springs eternal. What academic qualifications do you have? Did you take a degree in a numerate subject? You might want to read this excellent article by Prof. Nir Shaviv maybe you might actually learn something. Feel free to provide some constructive criticism if you have the time and the inclination. I would appreciate it if you could refrain from using words like shill and denier.

When you are done there perhaps you could find time to read this article in the Guardian and a peer reviewed paper in Annales Geophysicae?

Thingy knows almost everything, and what he don't know, the Dude does....
so between them, they know everything.

Yeah, never heard anyone say the sun didn't matter

Of course it matters. And the pathetic pawns of the global warming scammers are simply oblivious to that fact. They are thoroughly brainwashed by the scare tactics of the mass media which is run by corporations such as GE that stand to gain a kazillion mazillion dollars if they ever get their "climate change" legislation passed into law.
