gaza v israel

i wonder about the need to fight

the youth of gaza need to find better outlets, but the placed is closed off with low employment (kinda like our slums) and getting worse

those cheap easy to build non-guided rockets are just too tempting - got to strike at someone - even if they did not shaft you, the nation did

hamas has pledged to push israel into the sea and wipe it out - kind of hard to do business, or make peace, with people taking that position

so israel retaliates and the cycle repeats itself

and the non-combatants get screwed

I think they know what they are doing when they strike back in population centers. They know they are killing non-combatants. Israel thinks if they do enough colateral damage that the population will rise up against Hamas. But it is hard to rise up against people when they are armed and you are not AND when the people that are the direct cause of you immediate misery are attacking the people you see as the cause of your long term misery.

yeah kinda like us expecting Iraqi people to blame OBL for the civilian deaths we caused.

that is a really good point. unfortunately israel does not have many options, they are damned if they do and damned if they don't...

They are damned for what they have done and continue to do.
They have a long history of it, just read the bible sometime.
God let them become conquered and enslaved many times for their actions.

Good business for the weapons industry though.

yes, and the oil industry

oil prices have risen because of the conflict and keep rising even though neither nation has any oil wells

but, any lack of stability in the middle east causes oil prices to rise - makes you wonder who stirred the pot and got hamas to start launching more missiles...

Now don't get too close to reality there Don.
you will be called a conspiracy therorist.

And as we have learned speculation did not raise the price of oil, neither did the Iraq war.
