Trump peace plan for Gaza could be just a 'pause' before Hamas strikes again, experts warn

"If Hamas doesn’t disarm, we won’t have to wait years ...Things could reignite within weeks,' says leading analyst

The emerging Gaza peace framework crafted by President Donald Trump could reshape regional dynamics, but analysts warn that unless Hamas is fully stripped of its weapons and power, this will amount to little more than a pause for the terrorist group before it renews conflict.

Dr. Michael Milshtein, head of the Moshe Dayan Forum at Tel Aviv University and one of Israel’s foremost experts on Hamas, says any plan that assumes the group will dissolve misunderstands its nature.

"Forget words like peace and coexistence — that won’t happen," he told Fox News Digital. Hamas leaders, he explained, have made clear they will not accept an international mandate or a Tony Blair-style trusteeship. "They’re prepared to let a cosmetic Palestinian administration run daily affairs, but Hamas will operate behind the scenes, like Hezbollah in Lebanon."

Agreed. Without a peace treaty where the Palestinians agree to Israel's right to exist, there can be no peace. A ceasefire simply gives both sides time to collect their dead, train more troops and rearm. In the case of the Palestinians, they will build more suicide belts for their kids.

The good news is that, the next time around, there will be no more Palestinians in Gaza.....above ground. LOL

I don't see Hamas ever agreeing to disarm, and I don't see them ever agreeing to an interim international commission chaired by Trump to run Gaza administratively. Those are proposals TrumpCo. put on the table.

Hamas is probably stringing Trump along, knowing how badly he wants a Nobel, but they have every intention of continuing to run Gaza from the background.

Netanyahu is reportedly being pressured by Trump to release Palestinian prisoners who were responsible for terrorist attacks -- that's how badly Trump's ego and quest for a Nobel prize are driving this thing.
He'll never win it even if there was a peace treaty between the Isrealis and the Palestinians. His threats of war, his inhumane treatment of illegals and Americans, his use the US military against American citizens, his taking food and medicine out of the mouths of children, etc, etc, etc, will negate anything he does even if he was crucified and rose from the dead three days later.

With regard to the Peace Prize, the will of Alfred Nobel stipulated that it was to be awarded to the person "who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses". Over the course of time the Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded in recognition of many different kinds of peace work and concepts of peace....

...Since World War II, the Peace Prize has principally been awarded to honour efforts in four main areas: arms control and disarmament, peace negotiation, democracy and human rights, and work aimed at creating a better organized and more peaceful world. In the 21st century the Nobel Committee has embraced efforts to limit the harm done by man-made climate change and threats to the environment as relevant to the Peace Prize.

Agreed. They need to be eradicated off the planet. They are completey unredeemable.

The unprecedented move of sending the American military into American cities are not the actions of a Nobel peace laureate.

It doesn’t matter if they disarm.

The IDF has them surrounded. If they don’t disarm, they. will take the arms from their dead bodies.

Your overt cheering for Hamas, a terrorist Group supported by Iran, a state sponsor of terrorism, is duly noted,

Threatening to invade Greenland? Take back the Panama Canal by force? The extrajudicial murder of Venezuelans? Helping Putin take Ukraine? Bombing Iran? The list is extensive and, IMO, not one that can be negated even if he got the Israelis and Palestinians to sign a peace treaty.

You're right, this long list of militaristic threats automatically disqualifies anyone from Nobel consideration.

Yes, they are.

Perhaps these five people killed and 25 wounded would not have happened if the lunatic mayor and governor had accepted the federal help.

5 days ago — Chicago police say five people were killed and 25 others were wounded. Their ages ranged from 16 to 62.

As of early October 2025, there have been at least 205 homicides and 170 fatal shootings in Chicago, according to the City of Chicago's data

I've always said that Hamas can never be allowed to retain power, but Trump wants a Nobel so desperately, his negotiations with the notorious terrorist group are not going to achieve that goal.
Trump has lifelong insecurity issues. Probably stemming from his, ahem, shortcomings and childhood locker-room trauma.

For some reason, like Perry's obsession with you, Trump is obsessed with besting Obama. The entire pee-pee incident in Russia was Trump watching hookers piss on the bed the Obamas slept in during their visit. Trump has been trying to get rid of Obama care, one of Obama's greatest achievements, since 2015.

The brass ring for Trump is the Nobel Peace Prize. Regardless if Obama deserved it or not, it's been Trump's obsession to be awarded it himself.

IMO, he'll be dead or incapacitated before the awards next year. His health is poor and he's been under a lot of stress with the Epstein Files and his revenge tour.

That's a good point, Trump seethes with resentment and sees Obama as the standard he has to measure up to and defeat. Good analogy with Perry, lol

It's a truly weird obsession. Clearly the Dementia Don hates Hillary, but he is truly obsessed with everything Obama.

I keep hoping reporters will light him up by asking questions about Obama and asking Trump to compare himself to Barack. It would be a great source of memes and soundbites for years to come. LOL

Here’s the latest.

President Trump was set to address Israel’s Parliament on Monday morning, hours after Hamas released the last 20 living hostages from Gaza as part of a cease-fire deal that was brokered in part by the United States.

Improving from a humanitarian disaster and genocide? I guess so. When one can’t go much lower, there’s only one other direction.
