I don't usually pass along jokes but this is one of the best I've ever heard in my entire life....

Nancy Pelosi says....

“I didn’t come here to be partisan. I didn’t come here to be bipartisan. I came here, as did my colleagues, to be nonpartisan"......

Now come on...thats freekin' funny...you gotta bust out laughing when you read it.....
 
I would love to be a fly on a wall when several politicians are getting together for a drink comparing which believe they have the dumbest constituents. They all talk like Pelosi. How stupid they must think people are to believe it.

Yeah, I would agree with them so much it would be crazy. Me and grind talk about who we think are the dumbest Americans all the time, it would be great to be an elected official and do it.

"Hey grind, look at this letter Bubba from Perkinston, MS sent me regarding the assault weapons ban..."

It would be hilarious.

We elected Bush twice.

Marion Barry was caught on film smoking crack and got reelected AFTER getting out of jail.

George Wallace stood on the steps of the UA and tried to refuse entry into the UA for black students. And 3 years later he carried the black vote in Alabama.

Every major politician since Nixon has talked about securing our border, and yet none has done a damn thing about it.

Huey Long was elected, reelected and could have still been in charge of Louisiana.

The list could go on and on.

Face it, we have shown them that we ARE stupid.

Have we really shown them that we are stupid? Or have we been so consistently presented with such poor candidates that we've grown complacent and simply accept the same old same old? I believe that those we continue to elect have made the process so odorous that truly good potential candidates shy away from public office leaving us with nothing but the dregs from the bottom of the barrel.

that is a good point, but solitare had a point on post, except bush, i mean, marion barry, and wallace carrying the black vote....

by and large you are right. this could explain a fairly low voter turnout. for i would posit that if you don't like the candidates, don't vote, but i think many already do. and most of us will settle for the candidate that wins our parties nom, even though this candidate is not first choice.

i think that, in addition to what you stated above, the party nomination process itself is screwed up. look at all the complaints about obama's people caucusing and intimidating or outright cheating votes away from hillary. i wouldn't doubt for a second that mccain used his long time politician influence to swings things his way.

i think the whole caucus thing needs revamping.
 
that is not an issue for government involvement. political parties are free to set up their own systems to determine their nominees. as it should be.

If only more folks would realize the truth in what you say....even though I don't buy the Bush election as showing voter stupidity...some could put a good argument up for at lease being on the gullible side....but then Gore was the alternative....so I give voters a pass in 2004

Your missing the point...re-electing Barry after being exposed as a druggie and accepting bribes says a lot about the voters....they must be damn ignorant to do some of the things they do, and believe some the things they believe...

They are so completely driven by msm into believing lies and forced into grasping false conclusions its pitiful....If Keith Obermann came on tv tonight and insisted the world was flat, I would guarantee he would get more than a few followers...

my post was in response to yurt's suggestion that the entire caucus process needed revamping. As far as I am concerned, his party can revamp their nominating process any which way they chose... and I won't say "boo" about it. He should grant my party the same freedom.
