The FTSE 250 index has slumped 11.4 per cent this morning, putting it on track for its worst decline on record after the UK voted to leave the EU.
The FTSE 250’s next worst drop was a 10.8 per cent drop in 1987.
The FTSE 250, which is largely made up of domestic focused stocks, is feeling the pain more acutely than the more internationally-oriented FTSE 100, which is off “only” 7.5 per cent.
