Frenzied, Angry Mob Turns on Reporters in a Dangerous Physical Altercation

This week at Donald Trump's rally, Jim Acosta specifically and CNN generally were the subject of an angry display by Trump supporters who shouted, cursed, and made insulting gestures, mocking the network and its reporters, as well as the press in general.

The press are the enemy of the people, says the president. Despite an attempted narrowing of that broad indictment this afternoon, it is a given in MAGA circles that the press are the enemy of America and of Trump. Or the enemy of America because they are the enemy of Trump. That line is pretty blurry.

Nevertheless, it's obvious that the already near-peak resentment among the Trump base of the hated MSM is reaching new highs lately, and the president likes and encourages that hatred. It's all the easier to get his spin and lies accepted as truth and transparency if the masses are trained to believe no one but you. It's dangerous, that's for sure.

The damage this fucking abomination of a president is doing to our nation and its institution will take decades to repair...IF it can be repaired.

Trump started this crap 2 years ago. He saw that insulting the media played with his low information voters. So, he creamed them at every rally lying like hell. He claimed they did not cover what he wanted them to, making them biased. The networks he hates, made him president. They covered his speeches from beginning to end providing him with mega millions of free advertising. He had Katy Tur in some real scary spots. But Trump does not care if reporters get hurt.

Said it for a while. Don't cover his silly speeches. They are all the same. Let AP send a camera out. Let him walk out and see no cameras.

Amen. We're almost two years past the election and his toadies in Wilkes-Barre were still screaming "Lock her up!" He's gotten so much mileage out of bashing Hillary I don't know what he'd do without her.

You know what? That is now closing in on three decades of unrelenting hate.

It is almost like a disease.

I have always thought that after all the decades of relentless scrutiny, all the unending investigations directed at Hillary Clinton - and with no credible evidence of any criminality on her part ever being found - she might be one of the most vetted, cleanest, most no-real-skeletons-in-the-closet national politician America has ever had.

They decided at some point in 2016 they would be the anti-trump network, running daily negative headlines against him. Not sure why, they seemed somewhat more moderate before this. Guessing the big exec has it out for Trump and wanted to dial up the rhetoric.

THIS IS NOT THE JOB OF THE PRESS OR CABLE NEWS! Your job is not to decide who you are going to campaign for and help/hurt in an election. Your job is to report the news in an unbiased manner.
