Fox News loses bid to dismiss Dominion's $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Fox News Network on Thursday lost an effort to dismiss a $1.6 billion lawsuit brought by Dominion Voting Systems Inc, a voting machine company that says the television network defamed it by amplifying conspiracy theories about its technology.

In a written ruling, Delaware court judge Eric Davis said Dominion had sufficiently alleged it was defamed by Fox News' election coverage and the case should proceed toward trial.

It definitely will.

As usual, Trump leaves nothing but carnage, broken careers and ruined reputations behind him. All he had to do was mention Dominion, and he had a whole group of minions who immediately slandered them, with no proof whatsoever.

You can't do that in America.

Dominion hasn't pocketed anything yet, but we knew that Fox was just stalling.

Not sure when this goes to trial, but there are quite a few disgraced lawyers and a cheap pillow salesman who will be shitting when this sets precedent.

Dominion can show damages. That's all that is necessary

So will Fox. Dominion ain't sweating discovery, but Fox is. That's why they will settle and the terms will not be disclosed. Fox has everything to lose. Dominion has clean hands. I doubt Lindell will be smart enough to do the same, which is why this will indeed be fun.

Dominion will first have to win its case. You will be be dead before Fox has to pay a billion dollars out.

Maybe. But Fox's reputation - which is already about as low as an organization can get - will be further downgraded.

They're not a news network now. They're not even at a status of tabloid.

They're a joke, and everyone knows it.

Dominion doesn't even want its customers to see how the sausage is made. They aren't going to like discover. Fox doesn't have a lot to hide they have already said what they said to the public.

They are more popular than CNN an MSNBS combined. CNN didn't even pull one million viewers a night on any show in October. :laugh:

Every credible commentator, pundit & anchor has bailed on Fox. Intelligent people, who are disgusted by the network's detour into conspiracy and fringe partisanship.

Fox used to be a good balance to the more liberal networks. Now, they're a punchline.

The ask here is huge. I can't fathom what they would settle for? I'm thinking Rudy/trump are active in plotting the actions of Fox, and would be all over those emails.

CNN/MSNBC/Network share the educated in the nation.

Before OANN, Fox had all of the under educated.
