Wiener says he isn't going to resign or halt his re-election campaign, despite the controversy over photos of him in a Philippines red-light district.
Calls for the Republican's resignation have grown since the Albuquerque Journal published the photos showing him posing with young women in a Philippine city known for prostitution.
The Albuquerque Journal carried his statement on the issue on its website Sunday night.
Wiener says that he will continue in office and remain a candidate for County Commission in District 4.
He acknowledges that he may have exercised poor judgment while on vacation.
But he says: "I have broken no laws and brought no harm to anyone except for myself."
