Four sheriff’s deputies hid during Florida school shooting
By Ruth Brown February 23, 2018

Four armed officers and years of warnings did nothing to stop Nikolas Cruz from massacring 17 people at a high school.

Not one but four sheriff’s deputies hid behind cars instead of storming Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS in Parkland, Fla., during Wednesday’s school shooting, police claimed Friday — as newly released records revealed the Broward County Sheriff’s Office had received at least 18 calls about the troubled teen over the past decade.

Sources from Coral Springs, Fla., Police Department tell CNN that when its officers arrived on the scene Wednesday, they were shocked to find three Broward County Sheriff’s deputies behind their cars with weapons drawn.

The school’s armed resource officer, Broward County Sheriff’s Deputy Scot Peterson, was also outside. He resigned on Thursday after his failure to act was publicly revealed.

Word has it that the commanding officer ordered those officers to "stage" rather than go in.

But you moronically think that banning guns would have. How fucking stupid are you? That was rhetorical.

The cops screwed up, whole event was above their capability, but discussing their errors is only a deflection from the real issue, too easy access to too many guns, limiting access is the key to preventing further events as this and Las Vegas

"truthie" always comes back with the same lame line, "banning guns," the NRA's, rather gun manufacturers', favorite talking point, people don't want guns banned, they want access limited, guess that is too big a difference for posters as "truthie" to accept

Now tell us about your loss of "freedom" and "liberty," the second biggest lame line promoted by the gun manufactures

have you ever tried to buy a gun? 20k plus gun laws ON THE BOOKS today....it has nothing to do with easy access and EVERYTHING to do with making a target rich environment by forcing schools to be nearly defenseless

That is only relevant if you are dealing with a Federal licensed dealer, person to person sales, or gun shows don't have "20K plus gun laws," they don't have any, and even in some instances, if your background check from a dealer isn't returned in three days, you can still walk away with the weapon

And no matter how defensive you make any target, the mere fact you don't know what the next target is makes your defenses minimal

Well, there you have it. I guess we all better deposit our guns at the nearest liberal's house.

Gosh, I hope the criminals do the same...

Just have a gun for every student and pass them out at the door when they go to school. Then collect them when the kid leaves. guns are safe. Nothing could go wrong.

at ANY gun show, buying from a licensed dealer requires a background check. the federal government has no power in private sales. it's not our problem if the federal government can't do it's job and we don't have to wait to exercise a right because of it.

And no matter how defensive you make any target, the mere fact you don't know what the next target is makes your defenses minimal

you obviously have minimal tactical and strategic thinking skills.

you obviously have minimal tactical and strategic thinking skills.

So you go to a gun show and don't buy from a licensed dealer, you can even do it over the Internet, using such as Craigslist and arrange a person to person sale, it's not that difficult, and even the existing "20K forms" aren't much of a hurdle, as we know, even a individual on the terror watch list can legally purchase a weapon

And it don't require "thinking skills," you don't know what the next target is, your defensive posture is minimal, turn the schools into Fort Know and the next mark could be senior citizen homes or something just as emotional tragic

do you even know federal gun laws? you cannot buy ANY gun that would cross state lines without going through an FFL and that triggers a background check.

in this you are correct. we've been sitting here on the lines of prohibition for so long, now we have to play catch up, thanks to anti gun fucks like yourself.

There you go with that moronic "too easy too many" claim again. Stephen Paddock was not under age. He acquired all of his weapons through legal purchases. He passed the background checks.

The notion that another gun law aimed a law abiding citizens would have prevented the tragedy in Las Vegas is mind numbing in it's stupidity.

Adam Lanza was 20 years old. The weapon he used was obtained lawfully. He stole it from his mother, whom he murdered, and then turned it on school children.

The notion that another gun law aimed a law abiding citizens would have prevented the tragedy at Sandy Hook is mind numbing in it's stupidity.

Omar Mateen was 29. He was the product of an out-of-control immigration system his parents took advantage of that idiots like you support. All of his weapons were obtained legally and he passed a background check.

The notion that another gun law aimed a law abiding citizens would have prevented the tragedy in Orlando is mind numbing in it's stupidity.

Typically a quibble. Which commanding officer and what's his reason to order "stage"?

I'm puzzled by the following video. I believe it's true.

https://youtu.be/U35Xsd2axJs[/uro] ...DIA] Florida witnesses say multiple shooters

Waiting period should be at least 30 days. Background should be thoroughly checked. Then they should refuse to sell a gun. By definition, if you want a gun, you are mentally ill and hate your family and want them to die.

Ah, you just vaildated my point, duh, nearly anybody can get a gun, and you proved it via established channels, thanks

And perhaps no law would have prevented the examples you cited, but the next one might, prevent the next massacre at the hands of a dimwit who had no prolem getting the weapons of his choice.

If you don't succeed that don't mean you quit, gun slaughters aren't going end, and the notion more guns make us safer is inane, we already got nearly more guns than people and we sure as hell ain't the safest nation in the world
