Police are conducting an internal investigation after a video surfaced showing what appears to be an officer pepper-spraying passing motorcyclists on a highway.
Cpl. Tracey Knight, a spokeswoman for the Fort Worth Police Department, said a link to the video was emailed to the department Monday morning and immediately forwarded to the internal affairs unit.
The video shows a Fort Worth patrol car pulled over on the shoulder of the highway behind a stopped red pickup truck. As a caravan of motorcyclists begin to pass, an officer emerges from the patrol car with what appears to be pepper spray in his right hand.
A slowed-down version of the video, apparently taken by one of the motorcyclists, shows the officer then directing and spraying the can at passing motorcyclists.
