Florida Police Officer Slams Woman into Car, Goes to Jail

A veteran cop was fired and charged with criminal battery after officers reviewed a video of him slamming a woman into her car in Pensacola, Fla. "We have certain expectations of our police officers, and when I looked at the video, I was disappointed because I felt like that didn't stand up to those expectations," Pensacola Police Chief Chip Simmons told ABCNews.com. "We determined that what we saw on the video was inconsistent with what our policies allow and what state statute allows."

good. if you watch the video, he really slams her into the car. he doesn't get convicted, this will suck.

his union representation will tell a very tall tale that the dash cam video doesn't show all the details of resistance and that the fall is her fault, that the officer was performing a 'controlled' takedown, and the jury will probably buy the bullshit. then he'll get his job back with back pay.

then that is one stupid jury. that video is pretty clear on what happened. unless there is more to the video, that is a criminal act. i think the fact his department already fired him is telling....not just leave, but fired and arrested and placed in jail.

I've read too many stories, mainly out of denver, where a cop was fired for excessive force, charged, acquitted, and rehired OR an arbitrator forced the dept to rehire said officer.
