Finally, thank you President Obama

I am very happy, I called on President Bush to do this and he refused.

I called on President Obama to do it a year ago, better late than never....

On the eve of every summer driving season the jump at the chance to run the price of oil up just a bit more....

from your link jarod:

Other presidents have also launched similar inquiries at times of rising oil prices and widespread public suspicions of market manipulation by the oil industry or by speculators.

As a southern woman might say bless Jarod's heart for believing this is anything other than opportunistic political rhetoric.

I stand corrected.

I hope this investigation is able to find any manipulation that exists.

As gas prices inch towards $4.50/gallon in my neck of the woods I would love nothing more than to see something force the prices down. Your love for Obama aside take a step back and look at the big picture. As has been shown previous Presidents have claimed to investigate oil companies with no success. A lawyer on CNN this morning said it could take years for them to find anything and be able to prove (though he said they won't find anything).

This is a perfect definition of a politician saying something he knows the public wants to hear while himself knowing nothing will happen. I left Obama's name out of the last sentence on purpose because he is far from the first politician to do this. So don't fall in love with a politician's rhetoric. If this committee actually finds something and does something about it then you can crow to your hearts content. But otherwise take a chill pill on the overhyping of love.

I want to thank President Obama for finally concluding his visit to the West Coast. While watching his restricted airspace is actually more entertaining than regular air defense tracking, it does screw with our manning everytime he ventures out here.
