Federal scientist cooked climate change books ahead of Obama presentation, whistle blower charges

A key Obama administration scientist brushed aside inconvenient data that showed a slowdown in global warming in compiling an alarming 2015 report that coincided with the White House participation in the Paris Climate Conference, a whistle blower is alleging.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), in a major 2013 report, concluded global temperatures had shown a smaller increase from 1998 to 2012 than any similar period over the past 30 to 60 years. But a blockbuster, June 2015 paper by a team of federal scientists led by Thomas Karl, published in the journal Science in June 2015 and later known as the “pausebuster" paper sought to discredit the notion of a slowdown in warming.

"Our new analysis suggests that the apparent hiatus may have been largely the result of limitations in past datasets, and that the rate of warming over the first 15 years of this century has, in fact, been as fast or faster than that seen over the last half of the 20th century," Karl, who was at the time director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Centers for Environmental Information, said at the time.

The whole thing has been a ruse from the beginning. It's been a huge money maker for Gore & his ilk. Also, for countries to cash in on with paying people for projects, studies, films, etc. Even NOAA finally has chimed in now.

I so enjoy these wild conspiracy theories.

The wilder they are, the more improbable they are, the more amusing they are.

So here we go:

a) The deniers don't dispute the data, accepted by not just a few mad scientists, but the scientific consensus around the world.

b) Instead of dispute, or refute, they dismiss and deny. Please remind me. What are THEIR credentials again?

c) Despite exceedingly high standards of the scientific community eager to debunk and expose frauds like Ponds & Fleishman's "cold fusion" claims, somehow this deranged conspiracy of the bulk of Earth's scientist community is willing to jeopardize their hard earned credentials & reputations so $Millionaire AlGore "and his ilk" can get a little richer!

b) AlGore got rich. But that was for a media deal, not whatever you're so vaguely implying here.

Have you heard of Richard Feynman, Richard Lindzen, Freeman Dyson, Nir Shaviv, Judith Curry, Ivar Giaever, Jasper Kirkby, Steven E. Koonin, Harrison Schmitt, William Happer and Hendrix Svensmark to name but a few??

As for the data, outside of climate models can you show any real world empirical evidence for the much hyped positive feedbacks beloved by the CAGW advocates?

Sadly Sear is from the Scientology end of the climate debate, I have found it nigh on impossible to reason with climate alarmists. I am a lukewarmer, believing that a predicted 1.2K increase, from the start of the Industrial Revolution to the end of the 21st century, from a doubling of CO2 concentration is virtually all beneficial in terms of the greening effects on the planet. Even climate alarmists know this, which why they are so desperate to ramp up the fear factor by building in positive feedbacks only seen in models and not in the real world.

For an experiment like cold fusion, in order to be validated, it has to be repeatable. That is impossible with your AGW theory. You can't even meet your own scientific standard.

The computer modeling is bullshit. There are Way too many unknowns to accurately predict the global climate 100 years from now, as we've seen by all the "already failed" models.

The NOAA scientist who wrote the protocols for determining what could be released blew the whistle on this. Hardly Some anmonimous figure.
 
The left don't care about scientists cooking the books. My best friend has a son who is employed in the scientific field as a molecular engineer. She said her son is such a believer in CAGW that he and his wife are going to forgo having children. She has asked me to help her understand the skeptic arguments so she can convince her son he doesn't need to sacrifice. I linked her up with some evidence of collusion between scientists such as the climategate emails where the scientists wrote about adjusting sea surface temps to get rid of the 40s blip. I sent them the link about Gates. Her son's response was that the two datasets (HADCRUT and NOAA) align very well. He doesn't care that the scientists colluded to adjust the past temps. He just didn't care. I have to tell her I think there's no hope of changing his mind when he ignores a whistleblower from the source he cites. He also continues to cite skepticalscience despite the site owner being a dubious researcher.
