DHS and the FBI will be busy for a few years on this. If they don't already have a task force on RW domestic terrorist groups, they'll most certainly start one.

Like tracking down drug lords, investigating and building cases takes time and often begins with "the little fish" before working up to the big fish. In this case, the little fish are the idiots who posted their plans on the Internet. Political forums are just one source. DHS servers are downloading and storing entire websites for analysis and, if required, as evidence in criminal charges. Even if an owner collapsed and deleted their website, all past data is still stored.

To become a co-conspirator or accessory before the fact only requires participation in the planning, not the execution, so any political forum members or users of other social media who participated in the planning of the Capitol coup attempt and multiple deaths will be held accountable for their part. My guess is that JPP will be short a couple of our far Right members within a year. Those that are still here will be so because they are seen as "harmless", probably mentally deficient due to age and already in a secure facility.

Will JPP slowly move toward center by the end of 2021?

The Capitol rioters put themselves all over social media. Now the FBI is watching.
Capitol Police may have allowed nearly every member of a mob of pro-Trump rioters to enter, vandalize, and leave the Capitol building scot-free, but internet sleuths and official investigators are determined to hold them accountable.

After insurrectionists crashed through barriers surrounding Capitol Hill, overwhelmed police, rampaged through the Capitol building, and left dozens injured and four dead, there were relatively few arrests, and many people were allowed to simply walk out. There were few consequences then — only about a dozen of the hundreds of invaders were arrested at the scene — but that’s very likely to change in the days and weeks to come. Law enforcement and civilians alike are attempting to identify those who allegedly participated. Thanks to the brazenness of many members of the mob, there’s plenty of evidence at their disposal.

Many participants willingly — and quite happily — posed for photos and videos at the scene, or boasted of their exploits on social media and verified livestream accounts during or shortly after the melee, even though many of their actions may well be serious crimes. Apparently believing they weren’t doing anything wrong or that law enforcement wouldn’t go after them for their actions, the Trump supporters paraded in front of cameras wearing distinct (and thus easily recognizable) costumes and, in some cases, even ID badges.

In short, those who stormed the Capitol didn’t leave social media breadcrumbs for law enforcement to follow to their front doors — they left entire loaves of bread.

I said 5+ but I am not so sure, our Trumppers are mostly pussies, they would have followed the crowd in, once it seemed safe, but they would never have led the charge.

IIRC, you have legal experience. What is the Federal penalty for conspiracy? Is it true they don't have to leave their armchairs to be guilty of conspiring to stage a coup against the United States government?

Have you seen Smarterthanyou's posts on this? He posted to me several times something was in planning. If I was going pick the first to go, it'd be SYT.

Tom isn't an American, but a phone call to the Royal Police from the FBI asking for a favor might see his tune change...if not stop completely.

That's two. Who else?

I think that our wingnuts here are mostly internet warriors who 'd faint at the prospect of getting a hangnail.

I don't respect the actual insurgents at all, but at least they have more balls than brains.
Our JPP righties mostly have neither.

Just for fun. It's easy when the fucking morons give me the links or post about their plans to attack DC.
I know how dedicated you are to reporting such things you are "given"...or "hear"... or "have been told"....do keep us posted......

Agreed, but participating in a crime can be done solely from one's armchair.

Example; you and I discuss robbing a certain bank. I give details on security systems and procedures then ask you to "let me know how it works out". You attempt it, but since it was a stupid plan, you don't get very far. The police investigate and you give me up.

Am I liable? Did I commit a crime? Am I as guilty of conspiracy as you even though I never left my house? That's up for the courts to decide, but I'm certain I'd be facing a serious crime in such a scenario.

A few of the posters here were in on the plot to attack the capital. I do not know if they were planners, but they predicted violence and suggested it would result in a takeover. The right-wing boards, ever more far-right than this one were cheerleading it. They knew it was happening and were happy about it.

BREAKING: My office is supporting federal law enforcement efforts to investigate North Carolinians who participated in the raid on the U.S. Capitol. If you have any information about a North Carolina resident who participated in this lawless insurrection, please email investigationtips@ncdoj.gov .

Agreed. SYT for one. The FBI will figure it out.

My guess is that forums will get a lot quieter and Federal and State prisons will become fuller.

Maybe they'll have to give all the BLM protestors early release just to make room. :)
