The FBI seized boxes containing records covered by attorney-client privilege and potentially executive privilege during its raid of former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, sources familiar with the investigation told Fox News, adding that the Justice Department opposed Trump lawyers' request for the appointment of an independent, special master to review the records.

Sources familiar with the investigation told Fox News Saturday that the former president’s team was informed that boxes labeled A-14, A-26, A-43, A-13, A-33, and a set of documents—all seen on the final page of the FBI’s property receipt —contained information covered by attorney-client privilege.

The FBI seized classified records from Trump's Palm Beach home during its unprecedented Monday morning raid, including some marked as top secret. But the former president is disputing the classification, saying the records have been declassified.

Attorney-client privilege refers to a legal privilege that keeps communications between an attorney and their client confidential.

Sources told Fox News that some records could be covered by executive privilege, which gives the president of the United States and other officials within the executive branch the authority to withhold certain sensitive forms of advice and consultation between the president and senior advisors.

It is unclear, at this point, if the records include communications between the former president and his private attorneys, White House counsel during the Trump administration, or a combination.

Sources told Fox News that, due to attorney-client privilege, Trump’s team asked the Justice Department for their position on whether they would support a third party, independent special master to review those records, but sources told Fox News that the DOJ notified Trump's team that they would oppose that request.

The Justice Department and the FBI declined to comment.

Faux news is really pumping your trolling asses with its version of brainwashing and propaganda helium bullshit, and along the way has popped many of you suckers at believing its bs. tRump had no legal authority to remove anything of a classified nature out of the White House but to hand them over to the National Archives upon his lawlessly hacked in hide getting the 2020 boot! What is it with your kind who have basically sold your stinking hides out to a man as in tRump who sold his soul to the devil decades ago and would prefer you all drop dead as far as his morbidly obese hide is concerned?

Thus far all we have is Trump's claims that there were attorney-client privileged documents that were taken. His lawyers don't seem to have claimed this, and certainly haven't filed anything legally to obtain such documents should they exist.

So far all we have is Trump bleating on his social media platform that the FBI took some documents covered under attorney-client privilege, and apparently took others under executive privilege. Haven't heard a peep from anyone else.

Indeed, his lawyers likely told him to shut his trap after he posted that, because his publicly made claim that they took documents covered under executive privilege could very easily be used in court as an admission of guilt. Because any documents covered under executive privilege are by definition not his property and are the property of the National Archives, and his knowing possession of them and admittance via his post, indicates a willful violation of the Presidential Records Act, not an accidental one.

By requesting a special master, Trump is admitting that he is likely to be indicted for keeping the records. The only reason for a special master is to prevent privileged documents from being used as evidence in an indictment.

Fox News=Fake News.

Trump assumed the risk that other documents would be taken with the government documents he illegally kept in his basement. He has only himself to blame. The personal documents he will get back once they are sorted from
the government's.
