On April 1, 2026, the White House appeared to post and then delete a livestream of U.S. President Donald Trump speaking at an Easter event that day. During the livestream, Trump allegedly made fun of French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, as well as the U.S. Supreme Court justices, and seemed to defend "bad people" who were nice to him specifically.
One Facebook post claimed:

The White House did indeed post and delete a video of Trump at an Easter event recorded on April 1, 2026, as can be seen on archived pages of the White House website. Snopes accessed the footage, which was archived by journalists online, and determined the video was authentic and Trump made the statements attributed to him. The video's content indicated it was the same Easter event recording deleted from the White House website. There was no evidence that the livestreamed footage had been manipulated or edited.
We therefore rate this claim as true, with the caveat that the claim example above states that Trump credited himself for a rise in Bible sales, when he actually gave credit to Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated in September 2025.
We reached out to the White House for comment and will update this post accordingly.

The White House's publicly available schedule on April 1, per Roll Call, showed Trump was scheduled for an Easter lunch in the East Room that was closed to the media. Roll Call published a full transcript of Trump's remarks.
While the archived YouTube video can't be played on that platform, the full livestream of the event was uploaded to the video platform Rumble, as well as X. Business Insider politics reporter Bryan Metzger also uploaded the full, hourlong clip to his X page:

At the 3:00 mark, Trump made fun of Macron and his wife:
At the 9:25 mark, Trump criticized his various judicial appointees:
At around 29 minutes, Trump repeated the false claim that Algerian 2024 Olympic champion boxer Imane Khalif "transitioned from manhood to womanhood."
At 39 minutes, Trump said: "When somebody's nice to me, I love that person. Even if they're bad people, I couldn't care less. I'll fight to the end for them."
At the 42-minute mark, Trump credited Kirk for the rise in Bible sales:
Snopes has covered Trump's many statements, including when he said of Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, "He didn't think he'd be kissing my a**."

The White House is scrambling after accidentally posting an hour-long video of Trump calling his own Supreme Court appointees "stupid," mocking Macron's wife, taking credit for Bible sales and admitting he defends bad people just because they're nice to him. They deleted it. Someone saved it.

We transcribed Trump's more controversial statements below.
At the 3:00 mark, Trump made fun of Macron and his wife:
At the 6:20 mark, Trump suggested to Erika Kirk, Charlie Kirk's widow, that she should sue her critics. At the 7:50 mark, Trump said about Vice President JD Vance: "He's lost weight, he got a little thinner. I'm looking for a heavyset gentleman and now I find a perfect, a perfect-looking specimen."[Macron], whose wife treats him extremely badly. [Laughter] Still recovering from the right to the jaw. And I say, "Emmanuel, we would love to have some help in the Gulf even though we are setting out records and knocking out bad people and knocking out ballistic missiles. We would love to have some help. If you could, could you please send ballistic missiles?"
[Faking a French accent] "No, no, no. Cannot do that, Donald. We can do that after the war is won."
At the 9:25 mark, Trump criticized his various judicial appointees:
Around 15 minutes into the video, Trump made several xenophobic comments about the Somalian community in Minnesota and repeated the debunked claim that Democratic U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota married her brother. Now it's very unfair. Republicans, judges and justices. They always want to show that they're independent. "I don't care if Trump appointed me, I don't care, if — it doesn't make any difference to me. I'm voting against him!" Cause they want to show their independence, you know, stupid people.
At 47:43, Trump's spiritual adviser Paula White‑Cain compared the president's various challenges to those faced by Jesus Christ:So Bible sales are now at the highest number in many decades. Did you know that? I just have, it just came out. And church attendance, you know, this among young people nearly doubled compared to five years ago, just five years ago. And this Easter, many churches are seeing their largest number of conversions in a generation, largest they've seen in many, many years. And much of it has to do with a very good friend of mine who — a person that he loves so much is sitting right here. Charlie Kirk loved that woman right there, and he was so great, you know? He was so good. You know, I have people turn on me a lot. You do too. We all have people at the turn, I think a really big turn would be Erika.
Again, there was no sign of visual or audio editing or manipulation, indicating that this footage is authentic.Jesus taught us so many lessons through his death, burial and resurrection. He showed us great leadership, great transformation requires great sacrifice. And Mr. President, no one has paid the price like you have paid the price. It almost cost you your life. You were betrayed and arrested and falsely accused. It's a familiar pattern that our lord and savior showed us. But it didn't end there for him, and it didn't end there for you. […] Because of his resurrection, you rose up. Because he was victorious, you were victorious.
