The quiz, dated Feb. 28 and titled "Dinosaurs: Genesis and the Gospel," was posted to Reddit's r/atheism forum by user Puskunk on April 21. Puskunk claims the quiz is from a private religious school in South Carolina but doesn't identify the institution because "it is a small school and I don't want any publicity that might reflect badly on the kid" who took the test.

So they won't confirm the school name, but it was a religious school. So not a public school... and could be completely fake. No way to verify because they refuse to say what school (because they are trying to protect the kid)

This is an old story. The school has since been identified and admitted to administering the test. Yes, it is a private school but what they are doing to these children is just plain wrong.

The fact that it is a private, religious school means the gov't does not have a say in this. If you want to press for stricter school certifications, that is fine. But in a free country you do not get to tell others what they can do in a private setting, nor do you get to prohibit someone from teaching their religious beliefs in a private school.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances"

Absolutely! So why is it alright to lie to children just because they are "Christian" children? Seems to me that Christians would want Christian children told the truth....but then....I might just be silly....

I see the point. The problem being that we are indoctrinating children in anti-reason.

Thanks... not sure how a school can teach that crap in science. A religion class sure... but to call that science is no different than calling your views on life 'science'.

Or yours. The difference is you pretend your views are based solely on science while basic biology texts say you are completely full of shit.

Sadly, once again we come down to people lacking a basic understanding of how science works...even if they have two graduate degrees, they often lack a basic science understanding.

When it is a private school they can teach the religious views. Now, if we took away the certifications of the schools it would be one thing. But banishing creationism from the classroom in a private, religious school is unconstitutional.

I have no problem with their teaching their religious views in a private school. Just disagree with their calling their religious views 'science'.

Too bad your not a creationist and a little older....you might have enjoyed one as a pet while you were a young girl....

I know, huh! I would love a Jarrassic Park! I bought my kids a library of dinosaur books by Scolastic as some if their first books! I loved the look on people's faces when my young son would talk about pleosaurus, or diplodocus! Describe their characteristics and tell them if they were a carnivore, herbivore or an omnivore! Lol
