Heard about this on the national news this evening. Equifax is offering free credit monitoring for one year.

Hackers have hit a treasure trove of financial data from potentially up to 143 million people in the US. Equifax, a credit reporting firm, said Thursday that it was hacked from mid-May to July, with thieves stealing names, Social Security numbers, birthdates and addresses from its customers. The US population is 323 million people, according to the US Census Bureau. This would mean that nearly half the country is at risk for having their personal data leaked from the Equifax breach. And the 143 million affected doesn't include victims from around the world. Hackers hit the jackpot in data breaches thanks to the massive amount of sensitive information stored within a single company. Equifax's ...Read more

What really pisses me off is that we don't give them our info.. If I go to target & use my card I am giving them my info, hotel etc........

These MF's not only take are info w/out our permission they get it stolen to?? OFF WITH THEIR HEADS.......:(

If you ask me, corporate america paid equifax to do this to help the illegals steal YOUR ID. Big Business loves illegals.

No one asked you, NO ONE EVER ASKS YOU....

They were hacked, back on July 29th; but they waited till now to release the information.

I see a class action lawsuit in the makings; especially since executives sold a massive amount of stock, when they realized what had happened.

Click on the below link, “Check Potential Impact,” and provide your last name and the last six digits of your Social Security number.

I'm not even sure I dare provide this information to see if I'm at risk for them losing that information.......

Since this is an open forum, no one has to ask.

Quit whining, bitch. Use cash and you don't have these types of problems.

Going to bat again for your fellow poor TDAK. So sweet of you.

Great advice to, "yeah, I'd like to buy this two million home. Here's a stack of cash..."

I saw that latter part. That is not going to go over well.

Can we declare hacks like these to be capital offenses, and then televise the executions?

Lots of times these ppl are in other countries..

Do you really think that would be a deterrent??

The real sad part IMHO is just how open this is..

They hack & steal & then sell your credit info on line & even morons lacking any skills can buy it for a few bucks, buy a card maker on Ebay & go shopping.. wtf:mad:

I want to be part of that if I can prove that my card was hacked as a result.... I had one compromised last month...

They should spend some time in the general population in San Quentin if they prove they did that..

I'm not the one whining about someone posting on an open forum.

It's not an opinion. It's a fact it's an open forum.

If you're man enough and you think the basement is where I came from, put me back if you're man enough. Otherwise, run along, NL, I don't have time for your type.

Well you be giving me your address??

This is capitalism at it's finest.

No one company should have that much data on individuals in America.

One company can destroy hundreds of millions of peoples lives...........thanks to greed.
