I think this is a green light for DeSantis to takeover. I think even Tucker and Hannity will turn. This is going to be an interesting year for conservative politics.

Good advice; but also don't underestimate their gullibility. Trumpers are foolishly impressionable. Trump thrives on showings of strength even when it's mere bombast and lies he's giving them. Last thing he can afford is being humbled, and he's humbled today.

I disagree. He has Trump's arrogance and even some of his narcissism - but it ends there.
Trump would trash the Constitution if he could. He wants to be a dictator. He wants to execute drug dealers & jail journalists.
DeSantis is a more typical politician. His views can be repugnant - but he still will work WITHIN the current system. He's not a radical like Trump.
Trump isn't a radical, just a guy with no boundaries, no vision whatsoever beyond what he sees for himself. I agree DeSantis is a more typical politician but that is also the reason he could be more dangerous.

They are. But to me, it's still a fundamental difference. DeSantis doesn't want to trash the system or our institutions like Trump does.

You do understand that Desantis IS Trump without all the off putting bluster right? People LIKE Ron,....they Love him in Florida. He will be your next President. Long term yesterday couldnt have worked out better for republicans.

Not much to gloat about for the Republicans.
Despite an underwater president and economic problems, the Rs barely eaked out the House and maybe not the Senate.
Pelosi and the old guard have run their course. With the makeup of the House and Senate, the Rs will accomplish almost nothing of their agenda in the next two years.

That's not entirely clear yet. But certainly it would be curtains for Pelosi. She wasn't planning on being the next President, however. Trump was going to crown the great red wave in a couple of days with a Presidential announcement. We'll see now how that turns out.
