economic flation

which flation do you think will dominate next year

  • Total voters
    10
  • Poll closed .
We are currently experiencing deflation as retailers drop prices to get consumers into the stores.

This will pass and we'll experience inflation. Probably after everybody dumps their gold and they'll be left holding nada...

The treasury has been providing liquidity like crazy, but it hasn't made a dent in the economy. So much for Friedman's anti-depression theory.

While I chose inflation for the sake of the poll, we will likely see deflation in the first quarter of the year, then see a gradual pick up in inflation in the second quarter and a spike in inflation in the second half of the year.

NOTE: the above is my opinion, it should be taken as such. If the Fed increases rates in early summer, then the second half of the year could see moderate inflation rather than a big spike.

OH wow. The hubris. Don't worry. nobody is planning their lives around your utterances. You're no Jim Cramer.

Jim Cramer.

What does it mean when your every utterance must be cordoned off with legal disclaimers?

Get your panties out of a bunch. That was put there for the idiots on this board who seem to think that everything I put on this board is a statement of FACT.

So settle down Beaver. No need for you to get worked up. Calm down.... deep breath.... relax.... good little Beaver.

yes, and the oil companies are already raising the price of gas even though the price of oil continues to be relatively low

Man you're dumb, the Fed pumping money is what Friedman focused on, NOT THE TRESURY. Friedman is also the one who pushed the idea of a lag in Monetary policy and in general it's 18 Months - 2 year lag. Two years ago M1 was flat and M2 was mild growth. So you'll have to wait another year+ to see if pumping money into the banks has it's desired affect.

Read a book sometime.
