Done with TEA party, they've abandoned their original intent

CISPA passed with a majority of TEA party congresspersons support, with no mention or sign of any type of remorse. The TEA party has officially lost it's purpose.

According to math completed by Patrick Cahalan, “88% of the overall GOP members (casting a vote) voted yea, 23% of the Dems (casting a vote) voted yea, and 71% of the Tea Party (casting a vote) voted yea (Paul and Pence didn’t cast a vote).”

This works out to be 44 of the 66 members of the House Tea Party Caucus who voted to trash the Bill of Rights. Before Sarah Palin and the Koch brothers, the Tea Party was about the Constiituion. Now it is about reliqiushing our right to be left alone to the NSA, CIA, FBI and the national security state.

“The Tea Party may be the small government wing of the Republican Party, but when it comes to national security suddenly limiting the state becomes far less critical,” writes Erik Kain of Forbes.

Let me know when you head for your bunker to begin your standoff, will you?

The majority of the tea party were never anything other than the same ole right wing cranks. My uncle joined right at the beginning. He's nothing but a far right con Republican who always votes a straight ticket and hates Democrats.

Anyone who thought this was something new was kidding themselves.

Actually the tea party made a lot of sense before the advents of Dick Armey, the Koch brothers, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann and others. They hijacked the original and turned it in to something horrendous and so far against good governance that their present elected officials are having to jump all kinds of hoops to disassociate themselves from the kooks that remain in the teabagger's party.

Did anyone actually take the Tea Party seriously?
They were just a temporary spinoff of the RNC to attack Obama.

Hey now do not forget their Grand Poopeye. Glen Beck.

STY: better late than never. Too bad they had to trash the place before you figured it out, but credit where it is due; you have finaly stopped defending them. There is hope for you yet. Not much though.

I tried hard to fix it. when the national one was hijacked, I left and stayed with the local. But even now, the local one i'm part of out here supported CISPA and every supposed TEA rep that voted for it. so it's final. the TEA party is done.

Is there still a tea-party???

This is largely due to Boehner's original mandate to "rein the new tea partiers in". The sun soaked burnout got his wish.
