Donald Trump ripped for ‘failure upon failure’

On Friday The Washington Post editorial board ripped President Donald Trump for an enormous amount of failures this week.

Trump’s political advisor Roger Stone was arrested in connection to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. In the same day, the president caved to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on the government shutdown.

Trump then tweeted that he would shut down the government again if he does not get funding for his wall in 21 days.

If Mr. Trump resists that — if he reverts to another shutdown in which he again treats as pawns hundreds of thousands of the ‘incredible’ federal workers he lauded on Friday — he will simply pile failure upon failure,” the editorial board wrote. “If he declares an emergency as a means to divert federal funds for building a wall, he will invite litigation in what amounts to a profoundly undemocratic end run.”

They then called Trump a failure at dealmaking.

“Mr. Trump has failed as a dealmaker. Congress might yet salvage something worthwhile from this sorry episode,” the editorial said.

I have a friend who served in the military and has a lot of contacts and friends from around the world. A few days ago she asked her overseas friends what their country's opinion of Trump -- and by extension us -- was. They all said almost the same thing as you have, above. I'm grateful that you all are intelligent enough to realize that Toadstool represents only a small fraction of Americans and that the rest of us are not boorish bullying morons like their glorious leader.

Trump lost the national popular vote by millions.

The only reason Trump fluked into an electoral college win was because of Republican attempts to undermine democracy at the state level and assistance to Trump from the Kremlin.

He is undoubtedly the worst "negotiator" to ever occupy the office of the presidency. He just got rolled by Madam Speaker, and he is getting completely chumped by hardened North Korean dictators. Almost every leader of all of our traditional, long term allies hate his guts and think he is a deranged clown. Will the modern Republican Party ever give us a competent and capable president??

Weirdly, there are still a lot of conservatives on jpp.com who still fantasize about putting on knee pads, and giving their Orange Hero's shoes a tongue bath.

I think the worst case scenario, is that Trump declares a national emergency.

Which will probably get shot down in court.

He can build it while it goes through the court system. He did not call an emergency for 2 years. Now he is waiting 3 weeks before he may decide to call one. That is more proof that it is not an emergency, but Trumpy will use the power to do what he wants. It is good to be the king.
