While some core software in these machines does come from the days of Hugo Chavez, it has been heavily modified since.

That doesn't excuse it's problems in any way, of course.

ES&S and Hart Civic voting machines have the same core software, and very similar problems in their capabilities, including being online, including the ability to weight votes, easy hackery after the fact, etc.

And that's on top of election workers running the same ballots through them multiple times, and filling out and processing ballots after hours WITH NO OBSERVERS.

Let 'em. It is easy to show these machines have the ability to weight votes and that they are connected to the internet for unknown purposes and that they are easy to hack.
