Assange, villified by the US killing machine and a force for democracy in the 'Oil East' looks as if he is in a bit of trouble. Interesting scenario. The establishment hates him for exposing their lies and lauds and honours him for encouraging the people of Tunisia, Egypt, Libya etc. to have the courage to ditch their corrupt leaders.
What a dilemma. Still want to hang him, Uncle Sam?

LONDON — A British judge ruled Thursday that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange should be extradited to Sweden to face sex-crimes allegations.

Judge Howard Riddle's decision on Thursday means Assange, who has been free under strict conditions since he was released him on bail in December, must be extradited within 10 days.

However, the WikiLeaks founder would have seven days in which to launch an appeal to London's High Court.

Riddle said the allegations of rape and sexual molestation by two women are extraditable offenses and a Swedish warrant was properly issued.

Swedish prosecutors want to question Assange about accusations of sexual abuse relating to a brief visit there last summer. He has denied any wrongdoing and has not been charged.

During three days of legal arguments earlier this month, lawyers for Assange, who has angered the U.S. government by releasing thousands of secret U.S. diplomatic cables on his website, argued he would not get a fair trial in Sweden.

They also said the 39-year-old Australian computer expert, if he is extradited from Britain, may wind up being sent to the United States where he could face execution.

.Swedish prosecutors want to question Assange about allegations of sexual misconduct, which he denies, made by two WikiLeaks volunteers during his time in Sweden last August.

One alleges he sexually molested her by ignoring her request for him to use a condom during sex.

The second woman has said Assange had sex with her while she was asleep and that he was not wearing a condom.

Prosecutors say the second allegation falls into the least severe of three categories of rape in Sweden, carrying a maximum of four years in jail. Sweden sought his extradition from Britain under a fast-track European arrest warrant.

It is hard to credit that he has been under house arrest and bailed for £500,000 yet he hasn't even been charged. I have also just learned that Swedish courts tend to hear in secret if there is a sexual element to the crime. I still cannot understand how it is possible to prove that sex without a condom was non-consensual.

Now that you've been able to type your "rant-du-jour", would you care to show where "Uncle Sam" ever wanted to hang him?

Britain will not extradite anybody back to a country where they might face the death penalty, I imagine Sweden is the same but will have to check. I am sure that if he were extradited to the US, there would be a big show trial and he'd get at least 20 years without parole. Low does raise an important point which you've chosen to ignore, the initial protests in Tunisia and Egypt were sparked off by revelations in Wikileaks.

Didn't answer the question.
LowIQ implied that Uncle Sam wanted to hang him.
I still fail to see where this has any implication of truth.
