Does Harvard have a right to taxpayer money?

Teflon Don

I'm back baby
Apparently they think so. I 100% agree with Harvard in that the federal government cannot just outright tell them what to do.

But..............

It has been a longstanding practice that the gobblement has attached strings to any federal money it doles out. You see, Harvard doesn't have to take the money. The federal gobblement has done this to companies, states and colleges/universities for decades. Harvard never cared when the gobblement was forcing things it supported, but now they whine like little bitches.

Hey, if this research is so important to Harvard they should dip into their $54 billion endowment

Federal funding to Harvard needs to be shut down completely. They violate the Civil Rights Acts with arrogant impunity.

AS for research, those doing that work can set up shop anywhere, they just follow the funding anyway, which is why they're at Harvard in the first place. Duh. I doubt many researchers give a flying crap about the terrorist whining at all, or politics in general; they just want the money.

They're racist vermin.

Harvard has an equal right to have the government grants denied, Walter.

They encourage and practice antisemitism at their university.

Are you an antisemitic, Walter?

Bad boy.

They are also a private school, and can refuse to comply with Federal laws by simply refusing to take Federal money, as several private colleges do. But then they couldn't afford to pay worthless staffers like 'Pocahantas' Warren a few hundred grand a year to teach one half-assed class a year. And don't forget the Black Bowel Movement thugs on the payroll.

The research, much of it medical research, is funded because it's important period. This issue is rising for the first time because and only because of the anti-intellectualism in Trump and therefore in MAGA. There the unstated motto is, "Proud to be Stupid".

Anywhere, huh? The research is done in university settings and not in trailer parks because it is practical to do so, impractical not to. As mentioned above, the antagonism for universities is solely because of Trump, a guy who in is his adult life never read a book. He once did read, "The Three Bears".

Depends on how money was appropriated by Congress. He cannot deny them appropriated money based on speech.

Congress doesn't appropriate money directly to Harvard. That isn't how it works. The money gets apppropriated to the agencies who then dole it out at their discretion.

You see, this process of Congress writing laws at the discretion of bureaucrats has been around for a really long time. Marxists like you didn't mind because they largely supported your marxist agenda and steered money the way you wanted it.

Well, now Trump knows how the game is played and is turning off the spigot. Now you marxists are crying foul over a game you have played for decades.

Find me a bill which specifically spells out funding for a specific project at Harvard by Congress and I will concede the point. You won't because you can't
