Florida AG releases DHS document she claims contradicts testimony about border security
Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody released a Department of Homeland Security document that she claims contradicts "the congressional testimony of Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas claiming the Biden administration’s unlawful policies are not contributing to the influx of unvetted migrants," according to a news release from Moody.
The document, titled "U.S. Customs and Border Protection Overview of the Southwest Border," includes information about Title 42, the Migrant Protection Protocol, border security, migrant encounters, smuggling networks and more.
The document shows that "the Biden administration has knowledge that its policies are encouraging mass migration," at the U.S.-Mexico border, according to Moody.
In December, the Biden Administration reinstated the Migrant Protection Protocols program also known as ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy on Monday.
The program was started under President Trump’s Administration in 2019, it forced asylum seekers to remain in Mexico while awaiting a court date in the United States.
The program was stopped once President Biden took office, however following a lawsuit filed by Texas and Missouri a federal judge forced the administration to reinstate the program.
Moody also stated the document "also reveals that the Biden administration continues to undermine public-safety immigration laws, while knowing that Mexican drug cartels are facilitating the surge at the southwest border to charge migrants for safe passage in order to “feed cartel violence in Mexico and along the border.”
