Yes, and they are gong to nominate Trump again, unless there is some legal impediment to him running. An arrest is no such impediment. I can see DeSantis getting the nomination one way and one way only. He agrees to pardon Trump. Trump is terrified of prison. Of course, there is no escape for Donald in Georgia. Georgia is one of three states where the governor CANNOT grant clemency.

Trump will win the GOP nod and then lose the GE, while running from the prisoners box. But the hope is that he just scorches DeSantis, Jeb Bush style and embarrasses him so bad and makes him look so inept (Twitter launch already put first nail in this) and weak that he loses the Governorship and ends his political career too.
