A Denver woman was allegedly shot to death by her own husband while on the phone with police after he consumed marijuana edibles and began hallucinating.

Kristine A. Kirk clung to her phone with a 911 dispatcher for nearly 15 minutes before her final scream was accompanied by a piercing gunshot late Monday night, NBC reported. When officers arrived at the 44-year-old's home they reported finding the mother of three dead at the scene after suffering a gunshot wound to the head. Her husband, Richard Kirk, 47, was taken into custody on suspicion of first-degree murder.

Kirk had allegedly been "talking about the end of the world and [saying] he wanted her to shoot him," moments before she was killed, 9News reported. Kristine allegedly told dispatch that her husband was hallucinating and scaring their young children, an officer confirmed to the Daily News.

:rofl2:

That's some pretty strong marijuana edibles.....these Denver pot heads are a violent bunch.

Well if illegal drug users are prosecuted and made felons then they cant legally buy firearms. Guns not the issue stoner is.

Marijuana is legal in Colorado, therefore, they were not illegal drug users. This man had a very unusual reaction to ingesting marijuana, and it is most unfortunate that it ended in his wife being shot.

Lot of strange goings on in rocky mtn high country these days. Maybe this legalization is ginning up unexpected outcomes. But are they truely unexpected ? Maybe that stuff is generally illegal for a reason. Rotton luck for the young lady and kids.

The world has been using marijuana for over 5,000 years that can be documented, bad reactions to marijuana are rare, but occur. The news always sensationalizes and reports the bad side. They don't tell you the thousands of people the drug is helping.

:rofl2:

How dare the news report all those drug cartel killings and gangbangers killing one another over drug profits.

Seems a little silly to focus everything on the ALLEGED marijuana use and ignore the slow response time on a 12-15 minute call with a police station 1.1 miles away. They had enough time to run to her house and stop for donuts.

ON THE NOSEY!

I see quite the rush to judgement from the same conservatives who wailed and moaned about people not waiting for all the evidence to be presented during the Zimmerman trial.

For some reason, they don't seem to care that the marijuana use is only ALLEGED at this point.

Screw that.

Now THIS is the kind of medicinal marijuana even I can get behind!

I have read about this as well and look forward to its benefits.

The nice thing about natural substances like marijuana are that they don't have the side effects that you experience with pharmaceuticals.

Doctors give you a pill for pain, it makes you itch, so they give you another pill to get rid of the itching, you then get constipated, so they give you another pill. It's ridiculous.
