For DECADES the seat of one Anthony Weiner was held by Democrats, so it was no surprise a Democrat was the odds-on favorite to win the seat in the special election.... but a funny thing happened on the way to the victory dance! Apparently, someone forgot to tell the voters a Democrat was supposed to win! I mean, this is NEW YORK for crying out loud. While ZappedBrain lamented for days about Bachmann "losing" Georgia (she came in fourth in a straw poll of 1,100 people), we hear absolutely nothing about this liberal stronghold going Republican for the first time in years.... and this wasn't a meaningless straw poll, this was an actual Congressional seat!

I think the Democrats are in WAY more trouble than they think.... 2012 is going to go really badly for them.

Remember that thread you started years ago about that special election out west that went your way, and you promised us that "we'd all see!", and then the GOP got trounced the next election?

I remember that and quite a few other "you have no idea what you're in for" threads (Sarah Barracuda!) Guess we'll see how things go next year...

To lose one state, Mr Worthing, may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness.
 
You're in denial tool......it was a direct repudiation of Obama, his policies, and Democrats in general.....

But........if you can't or won't accept the truth.....believe what you must.
 
obama losing will the funniest thing ever. I don't even care if a bachman/palin ticket gets elected. The ensuing aneurysms will be amazing.

Awww, poor widdle barstool bumpkin Bravo is upset because I presented some FACTS from a LOCAL paper that point to the ROOT cause of a LOCAL political race outcome. Gee, I guess the willful ignorance of the neocon/teabagger is such that they approach pure delusional....but then again, I didn't think Bravo was such a disciple of Ed Koch! :palm:

I find it quint that you proles think you can change the world with electing a party only slightly different from the republicans. You can't change anything. It's hopeless, we are all doomed, we are nation of proles. We are completely powerless.

Work to fulfill your private life, work towards changing the things you can actually change. And for the stuff that you can't, sit back and enjoy the show.
