New York lieutenant governor Brian Benjamin was arrested and charged with bribery — among other federal offenses — on Tuesday.

The charges are related to a scheme in which Benjamin is alleged to have funneled state funds to a Harlem real estate developer in exchange for illegal campaign contributions.

The offenses are alleged to date back to Benjamin’s time as a New York state senator, before FEMOCRAT Governor Kathy Hochul appointed him to his current position in August 2021.

Benjamin “participated in a scheme to obtain campaign contributions from a real estate developer (“CC-1″) in exchange for Benjamin’s agreement to use, and his actual use of, his official authority and influence as a New York state senator to obtain a $50,000 grant of state funds for a non-profit organization controlled by CC-1,” the indictment states.

The illegal contributions were allegedly directed to Benjamin during his unsuccessful campaign for New York City comptroller, according to the indictment. The developer was previously indicted in November 2021 in connection with the case.

Progressives are pushing the fascist Biden regime to enact their agenda by executive fiat, and Jennifer Abruzzo is on the case.

The National Labor Relations Board general counsel last week issued a memo that overturns 75 years of legal practice.

The Abruzzo memo rewrites the law on the settled question of captive audience meetings, in which companies are allowed to communicate their opposition to union attempts to organize employees.

Congress recognized this right in the National Labor Relations Act, writing that the corporate expression “of any views, argument or opinion, or the dissemination thereof shall not constitute or be evidence of an unfair labor practice.”

Since its 1948 Babcock & Wilcox decision, the NLRB has consistently upheld a company’s right to require employees on company time to attend such meetings.

But no matter. Abruzzo’s memo pronounces, 74 years later, that the NLRB “incorrectly” decided Babcock & Wilcox and that mandatory meetings on company time are “unlawful.”

She says such meetings force workers to listen to “employer speech under threat of discipline,” violating their “right to not listen to such speech.”

Companies can clearly require employees to attend meetings—say, to discuss productions goals or workplace morale.

Banning any mention of unionization at a meeting, or its impact on company performance, is blatant speech regulation. Congress has been aware of the Babcock & Wilcox decision for decades and has never overruled it.

Big Guy Biden’s PRO Act proposes to do so, but he can’t get that through Congress.

Abruzzo is instead trying to impose a ban on such meetings by NLRB order, and she’s not waiting for the Senate-confirmed NLRB board to vote on it. NLRB policy is set when the five-member board rules on a dispute or engages in formal rule-making—a process that provides business an opportunity for comment and legal certainty until new decisions are rendered.

Abruzzo’s memo, which was sent to NLRB field offices, is a green light to file complaints against lawful behavior.

Now we know why the White Louse wanted Abruzzo in the job. She plans to turn the labor board into a spear for unions against employers, and she’ll ignore the law to do it.

Lying Obama Rewrites His Russia History

A DISGUSTING LIAR​

“As somebody who grappled with the incursion into Crimea and the eastern portions of Ukraine, I have been encouraged by the European reaction [this time],” lying Obama said at an event in Chicago. “Because in 2014, I often had to drag them kicking and screaming to respond in ways that we would have wanted to see from those of us who describe ourselves as Western democracies.”

As for Putin, the big-eared liar purports to be surprised by the Russian leader’s brutality.

“I don’t know that the person I knew is the same as the person who is now leading this charge. He was always ruthless. You witnessed what he did in Chechnya, he had no qualms about crushing those whom he considered a threat. That’s not new. For him to bet the farm in this way—I would not have necessarily predicted from him five years ago.”

Lying Obama managed to say all this with a straight face while speaking at an event about “disinformation” in politics.

All of this is relevant now because the Biden Administration is loaded with men and women who worked for Mr. Obama and shared his misjudgments about Russia. The conceit in many quarters on the left is that Mr. Putin has changed, or is deranged, such that his Ukraine invasion couldn’t have been foreseen.

But lying Obama’s weakness toward Russia, reinforced by former German Chancellor Angela "German Hillary" Merkel, is one reason Putin felt he could act with increasing aggressiveness and get away with it.

No one should believe lying Obama’s varnished Russia history.
