Democrats hoped Latinos would turn GOP states 'purple.' That may not be the case anymore.

WASHINGTON – For many years, Democrats have hoped that Latino voters could be the key to turning traditionally “red” states to “purple.”

Now, it’s unclear whether that will be the case.

New polls ahead of the midterm elections show Latino support for Democrats is waning – although the majority of that voting bloc still supports the party. Republicans are also making some inroads with Latino voters in states like Texas and Nevada, where Democrats are locked in tight congressional and statewide elections.

Some traditionally Democratic areas of more battleground states – like Miami-Dade County in Florida – are also seeing a shift. Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis is leading against his Democratic challenger Charlie Crist with Hispanic voters in southeastern Florida by 51% to 44%, according to a Telemundo/LX News poll published last week. Southeastern Florida includes Miami-Dade, the most populous majority-Latino county in the U.S. as of 2020........

So Democrats encourage Hispanic immigration and more Hispanic have started voting for Republicans. I guess they forgot many Hispanics are just common working people and are Christians that have family values. It seems that the progressive Democrat party is running away from their values.
 
Most I know range all over the political spectrum


The young ones not so much


They are right with all the other young Americans



2/3rds are Democratic party supporters

Good point! I live in Texas, and Mexican Americans pretty much dominate our population here! They are every bit as much of our heritage and culture as Pecan Pie! And we are proud of it. And I can say the same thing about every other race or creed of people that have come here, as they have all contributed to this State to become what we are today!

Mexican Americans helped us WIN THIS STATE IN A WAR FROM MEXICO- to create Texas in the very beginnings, and without their help, Texas would still be a part of MEXICO!

We are one people here!

I don't speak for Republicans- I speak for Texas Democrats! Republicans may have other ideas about it- OBVIOUSLY!
