Democrats battle for soul of party

The Democrats won the White House but performed poorly elsewhere, and AOC is leading the critique of how the party needs to change

The sense of relief Democrats felt with Donald Trump’s defeat in the 2020 election was not the same as a feeling of victory.

The party’s loss of congressional seats and failure to take control of state legislatures, not to mention the US Senate, indicated an alarming slippage for a party that had thought it was growing as Trump was supposedly torching the Republican brand.

“In general, instead of blaming the progressives for the down-ballot failures, we should listen to them more,” said Brad Bannon, a Washington-based Democratic strategist. “Because I think the progressives in the party do a better job of talking basic economics, and talking about it in a way that people relate to.”

Don't forget, that it's the moderate independent or swing voters that elect the president, and it don't take much for them to swing one way or the other, and the problem this time around has been that AOC who has got more mouth than brains, has turned off these independent voters.

Don't forget, Hillary lost to Trump. I'd love your thoughts on why centrism always wins.

Unfortunately, that's the way that the 20% that's between left and right votes; personally I'm not happy about that, but reality is reality. Also the GOP have mastered the slime tactics of demagogy, stereo typing, and smearing, of which they have been very successful with an uncritical thinking and gullible public, and disappointingly, the Democrats have never got their act together to counter these tactics, and have constantly lost; case and point Hillery Clinton.

I see. It's the Republicans' fault Hillary lost. Well, that actually is correct. Hillary was defeated by a Republican.

Lesson? GOP are big meanies.

Hillary also run a lousy campaign, and she had baggage that the GOP were quick to exploit. But the real point that I'm trying to make is that the Democrats keep losing, and they need to change their tactics if they hope to start winning.

Hillary lost and the DNC knew she was not popular among Democrats. That's why she lost.
Biden beat Trump but Trump got the second most popular votes in US history. I do not see the DNC reckoning with that.

Trump got the second most popular vote because of the GOP's well organized propaganda machine, and an uncritical thinking public which the GOP are adept at taking advantage of.

Here is an analogy. "No one came to my birthday party, there is something wrong with them." No, there is something wrong with you.
If centrism is where America is, why did Hillary lose to Trump?
