The latest budget agreement resulted in:

Full funding for Planned Parenthood
Full funding for the NEA.
Full funding for Public Radio
Full funding for Public Television
No funding for a Wall
No additional funding for emigration enforcement.
Full funding for Public Schools

Oh, they got one thing they wanted... Rump's vacation and travel budget got additional funding.

I have never actually heard anyone in real life wailing that we need to defund planned parenthood, public schools, or public radio. Only on Fox News, rightwing punditry, and from the soulless black-hearted rightwingers one has the misfortune to stumble across on obscure political internet forums.

While we seemingly encounter a lot of message board wailing from righty supposedly wanting to dismantle the FDR New Deal, and LBJ's Great Society, I have always thought it was mere posturing. I do believe righty wants to take away social services with anyone with a skin tone darker than SPF one-thousand. But I believe you would be shocked at how many rightys collect disability, medicare, and Medicaid. If the New Deal and Great Society were actually dismantled, I believe these welfare rightys would be despondent, crestfallen....even perhaps suicidal!
 
i agree with the topic. The budget is shameful. I dont see any value in a republican congress if it cant get stuff you want done.

Should prove once and for all that Republicans are not against disability help, medicare, medicaid, Social Security and many other programs to help those that need it....
That 'fake news' has been repeated a million times and sadly, many of the idiots came to believe it.....

we got nothing of what we wanted in the budget and democrats got everything they wanted. There is no value in voting republican.
 
at this point i am in favor of a mutually assured destruction ultimatum to the Republicans. If they do not pass stuff we want then we should give the congress and the senate to the democrats. If that means Trump gets nothing done after 2018 then that is what will happen. It is better than controlling everything and getting nothing.

republicans are just as bad as dems. They are all one party at the end of the day that merely uses wedge issues to make it seem like we have an actual choice. They serve their deep state masters and it is to their benefit to keep the population sedated and on the dole. Individualists that can take care of themselves is not good for the deep state.

Before the election I predicted Trump would periodically piss off the right with his propensity to make deals---and that it would be up to conservatives to keep him line.

And look what happened lol.

A couple things about the deal: one is it's being over-sold as a democrat win. Trump got some pretty hefty military spending out of congressional democrats. Not exactly unimportant with what's going in the world. Also significant money went to border security and a 'down payment for the wall'---whatever that means exactly.

It was bipartisan deal that benefited democrats more than republicans. Funding for PP and public funding for leftist propaganda [aka public TV] and other small ticket items continues until September. But defense spending is more critical than Planned Parenthood right now.

Trump dealt with congressional democrats in good faith and we ended up with a bipartisan budget. I think he deserves points for that and the fact the government is actually working for a change.
