COVID-19 relief fraud, gangs used millions in government aid on guns

In Chicago, the price of illegal guns soared during the pandemic, but gangs were able to pay for them with COVID-19 relief money obtained fraudulently, agents say.

When COVID-19 struck in 2020, the government quickly put together massive aid programs to help struggling businesses, along with the people who lost their jobs.

But other kinds of enterprises with names like the Traveling Vice Lords and the Wild 100s — criminal street gangs in Chicago and across the country — soon figured out how to take advantage of that safety net. They defrauded those programs of millions of dollars that they used to buy guns and drugs, according to the U.S. Justice Department and court records.

One story of many about the billions of dollars paid out to scammers and others by our incompetent government.

And yet not one government official or bureaucrat has been held accountable for their part in these give-aways of taxpayer money.

Isn’t it interesting how the government never accepts any culpability for mismanaging our money etc?

But Trump must answer for his so called fraud

I am going to take a minute to defend trump here. Yes, he did a terrible job of preventing fraud, but it was about distributing the money as quickly as possible... And only later worrying about the fraud.

But Trump must answer for his so called fraud

There are a surprising number of situations where you can get away with fraud in the short term. In fact, almost all crimes must first be committed, before they can be punished. That means we must allow them to be committed first.

The important thing is to punish the culprits, like trump.

I'm pretty sure it was a Democrat controlled House that was incharge of the money.

Then you would be completely wrong. Congress authorizes the president to spend the money. In this case, Congress put almost no rules on trump spending half a trillion dollars.

I worry less about guns and more about the $[$250 MILLION[/URL] that the Somalis took from one state alone. That same state gave them another $150 MILLION just a couple of years earlier and it was also discovered to be a scam.
What is so interesting here is some of the same names were involved in both scams and yet the MN Department of Education seeing that one location alone was claiming 5,000 meals per, day, was never checked and the money to these crooks never stopped.

Under what administration did Covid relief happen? Why didn't that administration put guardrails in place to prevent fraud? Sounds like trump is responsible.
