Court rules Florida's 'stop woke' act violates the first amendment

Dr. Death, aka Ron DeSantis has once again gotten slapped down by a Federal Court which ruled today that the 'Stop Woke' act advocated by DeSantis violates the First Amendment. The latest in a long line of DeSantis actions that are being sent packing by Federal Court decisions. DeSantis continues to push his 'I'll outTrump Trump act despite losing multiple court suits. DeSantis will not be President. He won't be Governor. I doubt he will be able to win an election for Dog Catcher. DeSantis has totally overplayed his hand, and people are starting to get wise.

The judge ruled that the 'Stop Woke' act was 'impermissibly vague and unconstitutional. It is also disgusting and immoral. But that's my take.

"If Florida truly believes we live in a post-racial society, then let it make its case," the judge wrote. "But it cannot win the argument by muzzling its opponents."

Oops. Guess the Constitution still applies to Ron Ron.

Yea, an Obama appointed judge with a mediocre intellect thinks that rejecting books for use in public schools amounts to a total ban on those books. What a retard. But then again, he is a liar...err, lawyer... so you can assume he's an idiot.

For now. They'll keep appealing until the get a MAGA judge or it goes to the Supreme Court.

Why ban any books? Why redact information from kids. What's so bad about teachers talking to kids about homosexuality? You puritanical fucks think you're restoring morality? You supported a criminal for 6 year.. you're still running cover for trump.

Because a school library is specialized and needs to be selective in what it has in its inventory. Any library has to be that way. A library can't stock every book on every subject out of both cost and room considerations. So, if a particular school library doesn't stock a particularly large selection of LGBPDQRSTUV books because they have little value in the school's overall curriculum, sobeit. Snivelling that a school should put sex education ahead of science, literature, mathematics, general history, and other subjects that K to 12 students need far more grounding in than sex doesn't seem unreasonable at all.

Oh, so your position is essentially Anything goes. I think there should be limits on what is taught and the books used with both being age appropriate. I think that poorly written textbooks, and teachers that put personal politics ahead of teaching should be banned by schools.
