Congressman John Lewis said that, for the first time, he would not attend Prez Donald Trumps inaugural... LIE
He did not attend Prez Bush's inaugural either, what dumb sheet whining and lieing lib jackass. The Donald will be the boss of all you Forum Libs, so get used to it. I will continue to post on this Forum all thr forthcoming political victories of The Donald. I will retrain you Libs as I see fit and there is nothing that you can do about it. What a glorious week this will be.

S #1's claim isn't fully accurate.

Lewis didn't say for the first time.
To paraphrase Lewis, he said for the first time since in congress.

It's unwise to libel Lewis. Lewis is not merely one from the fast-vanishing group of civil rights icon / heroes of the MLK era.

Congressman Lewis has quite likely done more to advance civil rights than any of his critics.

And even a Republican leader like Trump gets Lewis wrong, tweeting about Lewis' impoverished district; and after being corrected, changed the subject.

I don't know when Lewis entered congress.
If it was BEFORE Bush's inaugural, then I withdraw my objection to the criticism. But I don't know the chronology, and am inclined to give heroes like Lewis benefit of doubt.

Trump took the bait and now Lewis will be joined by at least 50 Members of Congress who will also not attend Trump's coronation.

That 8% of the black vote that republicans are used to getting has moved even closer to the bottom.

It's better than delightful.
The swimming pond is about 100' away.

And it's usually 10F to 12F cooler in the Summer in the shade of the leafy canopy than it is in the open.

We hunt there, fish there, swim there, tell fireside stories there; and perhaps the most sacred blessing of all, grow old there.
