Sorry snowflakes but the jig is up, time to put down the crayons, stop stroking the puppies, leave your safe spaces and accept reality.

Karen Finney, also a political commentator for MSNBC, urged people to stop blaming Putin, Russian hackers and FBI director James Comey re-opening Hillary’s email case for the Democrats defeat. Finney said: “Look, there are any number of things you could point to, to say that it was a mistake that we made that probably has some merit to it, because it was such a perfect storm of a lot of different things.”

The 49-year-old political consultant stressed that although there was no “magic bullet” that could have saved Clinton’s tragic campaign, Trump won by a very small margin of around “70,000 votes in those Rust Belt states… that’s what we’re talking about”. Shortly after the election results were announced and analysts examined how Trump became the US President-elect, President Obama said he was worried that the Democrats had been classed as “coastal, liberal, latte sipping, you know, politically correct out of touch folks”.

Obama said: “We have to be in those communities. I became a US senator not just because I had a strong base in Chicago, but because I was driving around down state Illinois and going to fish fries and sitting in VFW halls and talking to farmers.”

During her discussion with CNN’s Jake Tapper, Finney said: “I think we need to learn some of the lessons coming out of this election, no question, in terms of how we talk to working families, whether they are black, white, brown and where those families are located, how we talk to them about the issues they care about.
can you imagine HRClinton at a fish fry? or a VFW hall?
She was too busy having $10k a plate dinner fundraisers at George Clooney's house.

On Marthas Vinyard they at one point locked the reporters in the basement during a fundraiser

‘The utter contempt with which privileged Eastern liberals such as myself discuss red-state, gun-country, working-class America as ridiculous and morons and rubes is largely responsible for the upswell of rage and contempt and desire to pull down the temple that we’re seeing now.’

Well Anthony, that much is obvious lol. But can your side keep themselves from it? That's the question.

I think the answer is a resounding no.

Barack was right to go into farm country and talk to the unwashed rubes. Obama has many warts, but not knowing how to score an EC victory wasn't one of them.

But henceforth, future liberal democrats will need to do more than talk to them because they are rightfully pissed. And that goes for Trump too.

If he doesn't produce at least some jobs, they will turn on him.

^ clinton was a terrible candidate.. she went to the Tom Harkin Steak Fry in Iowa -but that was the primary.
When it came to the general she drove around in the Scooby van -but really did little retail campaigning there.

Yes Obama made himself known in Iowa, and he beat Romney there..this from a black guy in all white Iowa.

Tom it's articles like this that gives much of the rest of the world the impression that American conservatives are illiterate morons.

Everyone is aware that Clinton lost on her own merits or lack there of. The fact that conservatives are seeking some sort of legitimacy to their win despite losing the electoral college via a foreign powers attempt to influence the election only drives the point home.

So what if the Russian attempt to influence our election went wide? The fact that they did attempt to influence our election and that the Winner of the election is kissing Putins ass is alarming as hell to any American with the wit to rub two sticks together.

Those partisan hacks who believe otherwise are simply morons of the lowest order.

That's what this Dem was saying on uber-conservative MSNBC. It wasn't hacking, it wasn't fraud (recounts), it wasn't Comey, it wasn't anything at all, but Dem policy that lost them the election. Until they understand it's their message that people disagree with, they will have to grow accustomed to losing.

If she was such a terrible candidate how come she had significantly more votes than her opponent?

Be honest for once. Trump also was a poor candidate who won by the skin of his teeth and only due to a quirk in our system that permits a candidate to win despite losing the vote.

You might want to check the historical record of unpopular Presidents. Of the four previous unpopular Presidents. Two were complete non-entities that no one remembers, another was a very ineffective one term chief executive and the fourth was so inept and incompetent that he's viewed widely by professionals as one of the five worst Presidents ever.

Now that doesn't necessarily mean Trump will be any of those but if history is any indicator he has a long up hill battle.

do we really want to go into the popular vote thing again?
Look where her vote totals came from. This was the ClintonMachine -and it surely knew how to play the game.
It matched battle ground state by battleground state with Trump - and outspending him by millions there.

I can't tell you how many times I shook my head in disbelief where she took off the campaign trail for a couple days
while Trump was doing 4 rallies a day in those states.
The campaign kept saying "rally sizes don't matter" -which showed a gross misunderstanding of retail politics.
Maybe it was her campaign ( which WIKI showed to be a mess) -maybe it was her.

I listened to much of her campaigns, all she really had was "fairness" and anti-Trumpism for her message,
while Trump hit the keys to the electorate's concerns -he resonated-she didn't.
The battleground states were almost a wipe out -and again that's where the battle was fought

On top of that her fundraising was ALWAYS in CA or MA - ( coasts)
she might have done one or two elsewhere -but NONE in the so called Heartland.
She became a caricature of Big Donor politics

Interesting point about the most unpopular presidents, Mott. but i'm talking about the campaign.
I'm cautiously optimistic,if not a bit concerned that Trump has the right ideas to succeed.
But we'll see.

If she wasn't such a terrible candidate she wouldn't have lost. Twice.

3 million more voted Dem.

Of course this is what the right hopes you will say, but I gotta believe someone over at the DNC sees what really happened.

Yeah - one of the weakest Dem candidates in decades still got 3 million more votes than the Republican.

And yet righties keep lecturing everyone about how in the world Dems will ever win again.

Clinton won EVERY STATE in the US if you discount all the bogus Russian hacked votes. Almost every American citizen voted against Trump, Trump received less real votes than JILL STEIN, for crying out loud. It was the biggest blowout in history since George Washington. Trump is nothing but a Putin puppet, and the Republican party is nothing but a Russian front organization, that should be clear by now. Send Trump and the Republicans packing back to their homeland, and appoint an emergency acting president.

We don't need a party in the US promoting Russian interests. Promote America, and America only, or go home. The Russian party should be sent packing.

Hopefully for the right, that will be the lesson and in 2020 the Dems will get 3 million more and lose again. Serves them right, really.

The partisan hack in question is a senior DNC staffer called Karen Finney who is an American political consultant and spokesman for the Clinton 2016 presidential campaign.
