Harlan Crow, the billionaire benefactor to Justice Clarence Thomas, owns a collection of Hitler artifacts which he keeps on display at his home in Dallas.

In a series of tweets written on Saturday morning, sociotechnical researcher, Danah Boyd describes visiting Crow's home years ago while attending a meeting about the future of Democracy, during which she viewed his collection first-hand.

"I didn't know who Harlan Crow was at the time," says Boyd. "I was told he was a major GOP fundraiser . . . Years later, I still shudder thinking about the Nazi uniform decorations in Harlan Crow's house. And the painting. And the book. And the statues. And the "antebellum" (pro slavery) artifacts. I'm glad others are questioning the acceptability of those materials."

As detailed in the Washingtonian report, Crow's collection contains "two of [Hitler's] paintings of European cityscapes, a signed copy of 'Mein Kampf,' and assorted Nazi memorabilia—plus a garden full of statues of the 20th century's worst despots."

Not sure if that proves anything.

And Clarence and his wife are part of that collection.
The fact is we would like judges who care about the court's image. Thomas has done serious damage to the Supremes. He was on court for 10 years and never asked a question during presentations. He is an abysmal judge. His wife is a far-right-wing fundraiser and holds conferences. Clarence has spoken at some.
Thomas is so bad, that there is a push to make regulations for the Supreme to follow.

GOP billionaire who funded Clarence Thomas's vacations has also given thousands of dollars to Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin:whoa:

GOP megadonor Harlan Crow has been secretly funding lavish vacations for Justice Clarence Thomas.

But he's also given thousands to Democrats who've stymied the party's agenda at various times.

They include Sens. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema, as well as Reps. Josh Gottheimer and Henry Cuellar.

A Republican megadonor has been secretly funding lavish vacations for Supreme Court Associate Justice Clarence Thomas, according to a new ProPublica report.

But Texas billionaire Harlan Crow's largesse goes far beyond yacht trips and resort stays with the top conservative jurist. It also includes thousands of dollars in contributions to congressional Democrats known for bucking their party.

According to an Insider review of federal campaign finance data, Crow has given a total $5,800 to Democratic-turned-Independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema's campaign account and $5,000 in May 2022 to Getting Stuff Done PAC, a leadership PAC tied to the Arizona senator.

Crow first contributed $2,900 to Sinema's campaign in June 2021 before giving another $5,800 in November 2021 — prompting the campaign to refund half of it after Crow apparently exceeded federal contribution limits.

Crow contributed $2,800 in March 2021 to Sen. Joe Manchin, the West Virginia moderate who's opposed several of President Joe Biden's nominees and has left the door open to running against Biden for president in 2024.

Together, Sinema and Manchin have caused significant headaches for Democrats over the last two years — first by opposing much of the "Build Back Better" social spending and climate bill and then by opposing Democrats' plans of weakening the Senate's 60-vote filibuster to pass voting rights legislation.

All this kind of lacks context. He has one of the largest private collections of art in the country at his home, including all kinds of historical documents. And some of that collection includes work from some unsavory characters. (Depending on how you view this country, having any documents by slave holding founders like he does could be viewed with suspicion.)

It’s time for Clarence Thomas to come clean

This isn’t the first time Thomas has been heedless of reporting requirements. In 2011, he amended years of financial disclosure forms because he had failed to list his wife’s employment with the Heritage Foundation and Hillsdale College “due to a misunderstanding of the filing instructions.” Seriously? The instructions aren’t difficult: You don’t have to report the amount of your spouse’s income, but you do have to say who’s writing the check.
