It is truly pathetic that guys like Christie and Sessions - who are both stuck in a 1950's mentality when it comes to pot - could decide policy on it for years to come. Christie's commission completely ignores science in tying it to opioid addiction. In fact, in states where pot is legal, opioid addiction has gone down. He doesn't seem to realize that people need SOME option for pain.
I'm pulling for Trump on this one. During the campaign, he talked about states rights w/ regard to marijuana, and he needs to stick to his guns and support that amendment that keeps federal funds from being used for prosecution of state-legal medical marijuana offenses, which Sessions wants to do.
He also seems to have a pragmatic side, and he should see the tide of marijuana legalization as inevitable at this point, as well as the benefits from tax revenue. Polls consistently show over 60% support, and over 29 states have some form of legalization right now.
No more big government!
