Chris Christie...., Tea Party material?

I've been looking into Chris Christie lately, and I like lots of things about him so this leads me to this question... Why does the Tea Party like him?

I hope he runs. I don't know everything about the guy but on initial impression I was impressed by how he handled the stand off with the teachers union and he seems to be a pretty straight forward guy.

The Tea Party likes Christie because he was not afraid to make the cuts necessary to get their budget back under some semblance of control. He holds to a strong fiscally conservative line of keeping taxes low and spending lower, and does not even hint at apologizing for it, especially to those who believe they deserve to be the recipients of higher spending.

I like him because he is not a social conservative and understands that not all muslims are terrorists.

That is another factor with the TEA Party, considering TEA Party members span the spectrum on social issues. Yes, there are a lot of social conservatives in the TEA Party, but there are also large numbers of libertarians who tend to be social liberal, and even a not-insignificant number of democrats, who also tend toward social liberalism. The commonality of the TEA Party is fiscal responsibility.

At the current state of the Union that Obama and the left wing has left us in any toe head would be an improvement.
