Cheney hits back as Pence says January 6 committee has ‘no right’ to testimony

The chair and vice-chair of the January 6 committee hit back after Mike Pence said they had “no right” to his testimony about the Capitol attack, and claimed they presided over a “partisan” investigation.

Testimony presented to the panel and to the nation in a series of dramatic public hearings was “not partisan”, Bennie Thompson and Liz Cheney said. “It was truthful.”

Pence was speaking to CBS, to promote a new book in which he sets out his version of events on the day supporters of his president, Donald Trump, attacked Congress, some chanting that Pence should be hanged.

Pence previously said he would consider testifying. But to CBS, he said: “Congress has no right to my testimony on separation of powers under the constitution of the United States.

I posted in another thread, Pence is the Neville Chamberlan to twump's Adolf Hitler. The milquetoast waits two years after the 1/6 attack to say anything about what trump did and thinks he's going to run for president? He's a traitor for not opposing the crimes he saw trump committing as he was doing them. He's trash.

I'm sure Pence is really angry about it, but his ambition to redeem himself and to prove he's worthy is so intense, he's willing to compromise his principles and knuckle under to pressure. Let's not forget. Before Pence stood up on 1/6 and certified the count, he was talking to everyone about how could he could legally carry out trump's wishes. He finally called Dan Quayle, and even that moron said, "Hey! Dickhead! You can't create a constitutional crisis, do your job you cowardly pile of fake compassionate garbage!"

I wonder what Pence's family and friends think of his helping trump attack our institutions and kill people by obstructing the CDC's Covid measures?

The only way we can rid ourselves of them is to keep telling the truth and winning elections. The environment is really good for that now. The GOP is now engaging in a circular firing squad, all blaming each other for what went wrong. Some will want to go "full MAGA", like Gosar and MTG, with impeachments and Benghazi-like investigations, and some will want normalcy, so that they can stop chasing away voters. And now we have trump back in the picture as a presidential candidate. As the GOP all take sides, with or against trump, and they will - they'll tear each other apart.

Stock up on popcorn, it's going to be entertaining to watch them take each other down.
