Carville's Meltdown on MSNBC

Democratic strategist and longtime Clinton adviser James Carville went off the rails in defense of Hillary Clinton and her ongoing email scandal going, so far as to accuse the New York Times of reporting from “right-wing talking points.”

MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell began her interview with Carville Monday morning by asking him if it was time Clinton address the scandal, sending him into a rant that lasted for nearly the entire 8 minute segment..

It was legal, it wasn’t against regulations, Colin Powell and Jeb Bush did the same thing, but ‘Oh my God!’ Do you remember Whitewater, do you remember Foulgate, do you remember Travelgate, do you remember Pardongate, do you remember Benghazi?” he said. “All of this is just the same cockamamie stuff that we go through.

“The Times gets something from some right-wing talking points, they print the story, they gotta walk the story back,” Carville added. “And everybody, the chin-scratchers go ‘Oh my God, the story’s not right but it says something larger about the Clintons.’ This is never gonna end. We’ve lived with this for 20 years. We’ll live with it the rest of the campaign. It’s all. About. Nothing. That’s my view of the whole thing.”

Carville grasped at every straw imaginable during the fiery exchange, even accused the notoriously left-wing Times of using “right wing talking points” to help get America into the Iraq war.

“If I were a member of the press, and I realized right-wing talking points helped get us into a war, I would probably rethink the way I get my information,” Carvile said.

When Mitchell pointed out that liberal Sen. Dianne Feinstein also called for Clinton to address the email scandal Carville lashed back, “You can find a Democrat that says anything.”

At the end of the interview, Mitchell was finally able to get a question in as Carville had spent the previous seven minutes dodging, deflecting and reading from what seemed like a well-prepared script.

“Why should she be the person deciding, or her circle, decide which e-mails to turn over?” the host asked. “Isn’t that the problem with a private email system that isn’t government-archived?”

“Are you saying that she’s a crook?” Carville yelped back.
“Because if she does not turn over relevant stuff, that’s against the law. So is that what we’re really gonna say here? I don’t think we really want to say that.

“All of the out-of-breath, all of the coverage, all of the ‘worried Democrats,’ all of the other stuff that we’re hearing, every one of these things – it is always the same, Andrea,” he added. “It’s never gonna change. We go through the same stuff 20 times.”

Maybe that’s because the Clintons can’t seem to keep themselves out of scandals, James.

Oh, Dems are pissed alright. It's actually a positive for them now. What was a pretty complacent campaign is pretty fiercely energized - the get-out-the-vote effort is likely to be the biggest it has ever been on the Dem side.

And they should be pissed. Comey was way out of bounds w/ that letter and its timing.

H e was damned if he did -damned if he didn't.
The problem isn't Comey. But he did tell Congress he would update them -like he did.

Most hilarious is DoJ having ANYTHING to say about any of this after they dropped the hot potato in Comey's lap back in July..

Carvile is unhinged..lol

Yep. I've been saying that this is going to be an interesting week. Sure...sex sells, as we saw by the extended coverage of Trump's sexual predation over the years.

But now that the FBI is clearly in Trump's camp, those who were not that motivated are very angry.

Especially given that the FBI also knows that Trump most definitely has/had ties to Russia.

He needs to right the wrong.

No one has ANY idea what is in those emails yet; he needs to come out & state that, instead of letting Trump run wild w/ claims that their contents are "devastating" and "worse than Watergate."

He wasn't damned. He claimed that he was worried about leaks. Which shows that he has no business running the FBI anymore.

I saw the Carville segment live.

He was off the rails. Every vein in his neck was standing out.

Of course, his calm commentary is not much less exhilarated.

he ALREADY SAID he doesn't know what the contents..all they have is the metadata.

Read his letter - it's written with very obtuse language. "appears pertinent" is tangential type language.
The Republicans came out with "re-opening the investigation" the press went nuts, and the Dems feed into the vortex.

Douchebag Donald's camp should splice together footage of Nixon saying that the people need to know that their president is not a crook with Carville asking if Mitchell's saying that Hillary is a crook. That would be an effective ad.

true enough .Carville is hyper normally..
The leaks letter was internal. I meant the one to Congress. again though all this happened to begin with because Lynch punted back toComey
after that secret meeting with Bill.

linton effectively locked up the nomination in June and wasn’t cleared of criminal wrongdoing by the FBI until July. What if she had been indicted? Would Democrats have run her anyway? Would they have substituted in a 74-year-old socialist who had lost the nomination battle, or someone else who hadn’t even run? Any of these circumstances would have been unprecedented, but Democrats risked it.

They did it, in part, because they could never bring themselves to fully acknowledge the seriousness of the email scandal and, relatedly, the ethical miasma around the Clinton Foundation. They considered it all another desperate trick of the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy.

Clinton henchman David Brock demanded that the New York Times retract its initial report of Clinton’s exclusive use of a private email account in March 2015. A parade of Democratic operatives pooh-poohed the whole thing, from Clinton spokesman Karen Finney (“a politically motivated series of attacks”) to James Carville (“not going to amount to a hill of beans”) to Howard Dean (“hooey”).

When they first got on a debate stage together last October, Bernie Sanders, the only man who had a chance to stop Clinton, pleased the crowd with a ringing denunciation of interest in her emails.

Democrats bought the just-so stories offered up by the Clinton campaign. The FBI investigation was just a “security review.” The FBI wasn’t investigating Hillary, but only her server. Anything to deflect from the seriousness of the matter.

While Democrats willfully looked the other way, they put Comey in an impossible position. An indictment would change the course of American history. That was all on him. He ultimately blinked. But he also put on the record the recklessness of Clinton’s practices as secretary of state in an attempt to create public accountability.

Comey’s conduct is open to criticism, but there’s no way to please everyone when handling a case with such high political stakes.

His notification to Congress last weekend is another case in point. All that can be said is that if Democrats didn’t want the FBI to have any part in the election, they could’ve considered that before nominating Clinton.

Trump may be a deeply flawed candidate, but he caught a wave of popular fervor; Hillary, with her astonishing vulnerabilities, is a production of the Democratic elites who did everything to get her over the finish line.

Just how vulnerable is she? If it weren’t for the new trove of Huma Abedin emails, the blockbuster news this week would come via a Wall Street Journal report that the FBI is investigating the Clinton Foundation — although Fox News reported the same thing at the beginning of the year, and Hillary, of course, dismissed it as an “unsourced and irresponsible claim that has no basis.”

The email scandal and Clinton Foundation will dog Hillary until Election Day and, should she win, into her presidency. For this, she has no one to blame but herself — and her irresponsible enablers.

There is neither excitement or energy out there for the Hillary campaign you moron. Thousands are showing up for Trump rallies as opposed to hundreds for the sociopathic liar.

But it is fun to watch the slow meltdown at the possibility of a Trump Presidency and subsequent Hillary prosecution. :rofl2:

Yep; in leftist dumbfuck land where you live, a break in into DNC headquarters is far more dire than placing the nations secrets at great risk and using an illegal private server a prime example of Government transparency.

You really are too stupid to comprehend the OBVIOUS. :rofl2:

The polls are as close to dead even without literally being tied, and enthusiasm for Clinton is down, as one might expect.

And the democrats could have averted it in July, if they just would have let the system work without shady meetings on the tarmac and simply appointing a grand jury to review Comey's evidence against Hillary.

The question is will they learn a lesson from it? I doubt it.

exactly. Comey would report to any DoJ AG who handled it.

Ya reopening the investigation was a big win for Hillary you delusional nut job.

Comey was in bounds the only person to blame for this is the proven felon Clinton, Comey did what he had sworn to do under oath IE supplement his testimony if new information became available and it did.
