Carly Fiorina Ends Bid For Republican Presidential Nomination

Maybe she should have reached down to that special place in hell to get more support from women.

Carly Fiorina is exiting the Republican presidential race after a seventh-place showing in last night's New Hampshire primary.

"While I suspend my candidacy today, I will continue to travel this country and fight for those Americans who refuse to settle for the way things are and a status quo that no longer works for them," said Fiorina in a statement.

Fiorina was an unconventional candidate. Her only previous political effort had been a 10-point loss in a race for U.S. Senate in California, and her tenure at Hewlett-Packard was most notable for her being fired by the board of directors after an unsuccessful merger with Compaq. Still, Fiorina struck a chord with many Republican voters, many of whom were especially drawn to her fierce anti-abortion viewpoints and spirited appearances on the campaign trail and in debates.

Fiorina, the only female candidate on the Republican side, devoted a considerable amount of time to attacking Hillary Clinton, whom she criticized for reducing her campaign to an appeal for a female president.

Accomplished at wrecking a corporation with her bad decisions, yes. And the employees who are left are still holding it against her.

Of the 302,000 employees at the company, not one has given a reportable amount to help Fiorina fund her 2016 presidential campaign, according to the campaign’s most recent FEC filings, which lists all donations over $200. HP’s corporate leadership also doesn’t seem keen on the idea of Fiorina in the White House. Among the 12-member board of directors, just one, Ann Livermore, has given a donation above that threshold.

Also missing from the donor list are current CEO (and former GOP gubernatorial candidate) Meg Whitman, any members of the senior leadership team, and all but one member of the HP Board during Fiorina’s tenure there from 1999 to 2005. Tom Perkins, a venture capitalist and former board member who voted to fire Fiorina in 2005, has since had a change of heart and donated $25,000 to CARLY for America, the super PAC supporting her."

I'll give her some credit - she really added something to the campaign, and she was one of the few on the GOP side who had some actual courage & really took Trump on.

I think her problems stemmed from the "likability factor." I get that factor when it comes to electing Presidents, but it probably keeps quite a few capable people from getting the job.

Well, she obviously got some money from somewhere....I never claimed some corporations didn't donate to her, Ms. Strawman.....

I just pointed out what amounts were given each party and proved that big business favors Democrats by a huge margin.....

Republicans as group, got less.....not only Fiorina....ALL Republicans....

she was the best on foreign policy. She knows the middle east better then anyone -and I include Clinton..

She was against crony capitalism -the so called revolving door where lobbiests and elected officials get elected/appointed
and then come back in to lobby for a private firm

I thought she had a lot of promise...I see others describing her as "shrill" - well there you go
