they are taking it slow on announcing it as a car bomb but gasoline, propane and other explosives were found within the truck

oh well, another loose nut with the resources
 
I thought when Obama was president, he was going to talk to these terrorists and make them like us? Is that what we were told, Bush was the problem, all of this 'terrorism' talk was just boogie men created by the NEOCONS to scare people, and Obama's fundamental understanding of their problems would solve all this kind of trouble... I distinctly remember all of this being claimed. I guess you must have forgotten?

But the device didn't explode, if it had been alQaeda, it would have... so I am guessing it was one of those Anti-Legal-Immigration protesters, since they've been the ones throwing the bottles at cops lately. Left wing needs to reel in their nuts!

Officials are treating the incident Saturday night in which an apparent car bomb failed to detonate in New York's Times Square as a potential terrorist attack, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Sunday.

Napolitano said investigators do not have any suspects at this point, but they have recovered forensic evidence including fingerprints from the vehicle. Speaking on NBC's "Meet the Press," Napolitano said surveillance cameras nearby could yield valuable videotape.

Times Square was evacuated Saturday after police were alerted to the suspicious vehicle, which turned out to be carrying propane tanks and a clock suspected to be a timing device. They also removed gasoline and explosive powders from the vehicle.

Authorities are looking into reports that a man was seen running from the SUV, an official told Fox News.

I distinctly recall the argument that they had reason to hate us because of who we were......that changing who we were was going to solve that problem....I even recall the argument that his very name was going to bring about change in that regard....

I'd love to hear some campaign rhetoric if you can find it, if it's something that was so distinct for you. Particularly that it was going to "solve the problem." Not that "there is a better approach," or "more effective way of dealing with"...but that it would completely "solve the problem."

Boy, would I like to see that.

I remember it Onzies, George Bush's "cowboy diplomacy" had angered the radicals around the world, and Obama was going to bring a "new tone" and have meetings with them to hear their problems, and that was going to be better for our security because we feel their pain. I remember some pinheads wouldn't even acknowledge we had a terrorist problem, it was all concocted by Bush and Cheney to scare us and justify the NEOCONS taking over the world oil supply... remember, the "war for oil" claims? Micheal Moore even made a "documentary" about it... Some pinheads didn't even think terrorists caused 9/11, they claimed it was Bush and Cheney who imploded the WTC's.

But I distinctly remember all the "terrorist boogie men" comments, and the argument that Obama would be able to reason with the radicals unlike Bush or any NEOCON. And no, it wasn't "campaign rhetoric" from Obama or Dems holding political office, it was widely articulated among pinhead supporters. It was like your #2 reason for voting Obama, behind him not being Bush.

I never said Obama would make terrorists like us, or eliminate terrorism. Terrorism will likely never be eliminated. I do believe there are ways of dealing with it that are more targeted and effective, however.

You feel like you can rewrite history, but I was there, and so were most people.

Yeah, it's part of that whole "more targeted and effective" aspect we heard from you. But Obama has been in office for 16 months, and it doesn't seem like the war on terror has gotten more targeted or effective...at least not from OUR perspective! They certainly seem to be more targeted and effective in unleashing terror on us... is THAT what you meant? And yeah, I remember you were part of the "stick our heads in the sand" crowd, who didn't think we could do anything about terrorism anyway, so why not stick our head in the sand and ignore it?

Oh, and btw... we can certainly rewrite history! We can rewrite anything we like because the precedent has been established for that. It's all about who is in power, who controls the media machine, and how much propaganda we can pump out... that's what the liberals do, right? History doesn't actually matter, it's all about the SPIN on history, and how you can politicize it to your advantage. It's how we've managed to romanticize Socialism, and pretend Karl Marx was some kind of friggin genius we should listen to.

Typical goalpost shifting, because you know full well you were lying your arse off - shamelessly - with the contention that Obama promised that terrorists would like us if we talked to them, and that there would be no more terrorism, and that love would reign.

And who are you speaking for when you say "OUR"? You always think you're speaking for America, but of course, you're not. Truth is, America is safer. I know you'd love an actual attack to happen, but it hasn't yet. You'll just have to keep waiting & hoping.
