Capitol riot panel's final report sets out case to try Trump

WASHINGTON, Dec 22 (Reuters) - The congressional panel probing the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol released its final report late on Thursday, outlining its case that former U.S. President Donald Trump should face criminal charges of inciting the deadly riot.

The report, which runs to more than 800 pages, is based on nearly 1,200 interviews over 18 months and hundreds of thousands of documents, as well as the rulings of more than 60 federal and state courts.

You don't have it because it's not there. It's all been a lie. The only thing that should have been investigated re j6 is the murder of ashli babbitt.

Nobody stormed the capitol. The protesters WANTED team trump to present his electoral fraud evidence to the House. But pelosi did not obviously want that and she sent in her goons to turn the protest into a riot and cancel the hearings. If there was a storming it was pelosi's doing. THINK

A year and a half ago McCarthy pulled the plug on participating in the real Jan. 6 investigation. Soon after, assorted GOP leaders and their allies set out to find facts that would exonerate Trump and cast the attack in a more flattering light for the right.
Nearly 18 months later, as the real Jan. 6 committee produces devastating findings, it appears Republicans just couldn’t come up with much.
As for the former president’s claim that he wanted to deploy thousands of troops to protect the Capitol — a defense Trump has pushed repeatedly for months — the five Republicans responsible for this report didn’t bother to even mention it in their document. That’s how foolish the argument is.
